Trump Gives Himself Major Honor

Liberals won’t be happy about this.

President Donald Trump generated fresh attention over the Independence Day weekend after sharing a video on Truth Social featuring a gold-colored replica of Mount Rushmore with his own likeness displayed alongside President Abraham Lincoln. The patriotic-themed clip appeared just hours before Trump traveled to South Dakota to deliver a major speech celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, quickly sparking discussion among supporters and critics alike.

The video opened with the words “Art of the Vision” displayed across an American flag before revealing the artistic rendering of the famous monument. A voiceover attributed to Trump declared, “I will be the greatest president for many, many years to come,” before adding, “And we’re going to have a lot of fun tonight.”

While the video showcased a symbolic artistic creation rather than any official proposal, it renewed a conversation that has surrounded Trump and Mount Rushmore for several years.

Trump Delivers Patriotic Mount Rushmore Speech

After sharing the video, Trump traveled to the iconic South Dakota landmark, where he addressed a crowd gathered for the opening celebrations of America’s semiquincentennial—the nation’s 250th birthday.

Standing beneath the towering granite monument honoring Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, Trump praised the country’s history, achievements, and future.

Trump praised the United States as the greatest nation in history, highlighting what he called its unmatched success, achievements, and exceptional character. He also urged Americans to honor the generations whose sacrifices secured the nation’s freedom as the country commemorates 250 years of independence.

Throughout his approximately 30-minute address, Trump emphasized patriotism, economic strength, military power, and preserving America’s founding principles. He also warned about what he described as growing ideological challenges facing the country, arguing that Americans should remain committed to protecting individual liberty and constitutional values.

The Mount Rushmore speech served as one of the first major events leading into nationwide America 250 celebrations taking place across the country.

Trump Revives the Mount Rushmore Conversation

Although the latest video attracted widespread attention online, the idea of Trump being associated with Mount Rushmore is nothing new.

Over the years, Trump has occasionally joked about the possibility of joining the monument’s four presidents. Former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem previously recalled that Trump once mentioned it would be a dream to see his likeness included on the famous memorial.

Trump later addressed the topic publicly, saying discussions about the idea often generated unnecessary controversy. In 2020, he denied ever formally requesting that his face be added to the monument but remarked that some supporters believed his accomplishments justified the recognition.

More recently, the president has shared AI-generated artwork imagining himself alongside the four presidents already carved into the mountain. His newest Truth Social post continued that theme by displaying a gold replica rather than suggesting any actual modification to the historic landmark.

For many supporters, the images represent admiration for Trump’s presidency rather than a literal proposal to alter one of America’s most recognizable monuments.

Republicans Continue Supporting Trump on Mount Rushmore

The idea has also received backing from several Republican lawmakers.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced a bill seeking to place Trump’s image on Mount Rushmore, saying his leadership record, accomplishments in office, and return to the presidency merit lasting national recognition.

Representative Andy Ogles has also publicly expressed support for the proposal.

White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers previously praised the concept, stating that there would be “no better addition” to Mount Rushmore than President Trump, pointing to his service as both the nation’s 45th and 47th president.

Supporters argue that Trump’s accomplishments—including border security initiatives, judicial appointments, tax reforms, economic policies, and his political comeback—have secured his place among the most influential presidents in modern American history.

Could Mount Rushmore Ever Be Expanded?

Despite periodic discussions surrounding the idea, historians and preservation experts have consistently noted that expanding Mount Rushmore would be extraordinarily difficult.

Historical records from sculptor Gutzon Borglum indicate that the remaining rock formations on the mountain were not considered suitable for carving another presidential face because of structural and geological limitations.

As a result, experts generally view the possibility of physically adding another president to the monument as highly unlikely regardless of political support.

Even so, artistic renderings, digital artwork, and symbolic tributes featuring Trump continue to circulate widely online, especially among supporters who view them as expressions of appreciation rather than actual construction proposals.

America 250 Celebrations Continue Nationwide

Trump’s appearance at Mount Rushmore marked only the beginning of a larger celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

Following his South Dakota address, the president was scheduled to participate in additional Freedom 250 events in Washington, D.C., highlighting the nation’s history, military, and founding ideals.

The milestone has been years in planning, with federal agencies, state governments, veterans organizations, civic groups, and local communities organizing ceremonies, educational programs, fireworks displays, concerts, and historical commemorations across the country.

For many Americans, the anniversary represents an opportunity to reflect on two and a half centuries of freedom, constitutional government, and national achievement.

A Symbolic Moment Draws National Attention

Whether viewed as a patriotic tribute, political statement, or artistic expression, Trump’s Mount Rushmore video quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the Independence Day weekend.

The post reinforced the president’s long-standing emphasis on American history, national pride, and honoring the country’s legacy while generating renewed discussion about his place in modern presidential history.

As the America 250 celebration continues throughout the year, Trump appears determined to keep the focus on patriotism, the nation’s founding principles, and what he describes as America’s next great chapter.
