Biden Making The Border Worse For Trump

Why is Biden allowed to get away with this?

In the final months of his presidency, Joe Biden is deliberately worsening the immigration crisis, according to former Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli. In an interview with Newsmax, Cuccinelli accused the Biden administration of returning to its open-borders policies, disregarding the concerns of American citizens. He argued that, despite making a brief attempt to address immigration issues ahead of the 2024 election, Biden is once again prioritizing a lax approach to border security.

Cuccinelli’s remarks came as Biden’s immigration policies were seen as increasingly detached from the reality at the southern border. He pointed out that the administration’s actions over the next two months would likely push America further toward open borders, with little regard for the security or safety of American citizens. “They are going to run through the tape with an open borders policy,” Cuccinelli said, predicting that the Biden administration would double down on its failed immigration agenda.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, have made clear their intention to restore order to the immigration system. Cuccinelli expressed confidence in their ability to deport millions of illegal immigrants, calling it the “biggest domestic logistical undertaking” the U.S. has ever seen. Trump, he argued, is the right leader to take on such a challenge, with Homan’s determination to see the job through.

Cuccinelli also criticized the Biden administration’s decision to create an app for immigrants to connect with ICE, noting that the app was experiencing technical problems—a situation he found unsurprising. “This is just part of their ongoing effort to undermine immigration enforcement,” he said.

The real issue, Cuccinelli stressed, is that the Biden administration is simply following its ideological commitment to open borders. He noted that, while Biden had temporarily tightened some policies for political reasons ahead of the election, his administration’s underlying agenda has always been to weaken border security. “They only curtailed it modestly in 2024 out of concern for optics,” Cuccinelli remarked, emphasizing that the safety of Americans was never their primary concern.

Looking ahead, Cuccinelli warned that even more radical policies could emerge in the coming months as Biden bows to pressure from the far-left wing of his party. “This is just the first of many far-left policy choices we can expect before Biden leaves office,” he said.

Cuccinelli also addressed the potential resistance to Trump’s deportation plans, predicting that liberal leaders would attempt to block enforcement through legal challenges. However, he made it clear that anyone who tried to obstruct federal agents from doing their job would face severe legal consequences. “Harboring illegal aliens is a federal crime,” he stated. “The Trump administration will be ready to charge anyone who tries to block deportations, and once people realize how serious the consequences are, this will come to a quick halt.”

As the border crisis continues to escalate, Cuccinelli’s comments underscore the stark difference between Biden’s reckless immigration policies and the more secure, lawful approach promised by Trump and his team.
