Crockett Attacks Disabled Governor Again?

Crockett is just plain wrong for this.

Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett is once again facing fierce backlash—this time for doubling down on a cruel joke targeting Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who has been paralyzed since a 1984 accident.

While speaking at the 2025 Human Rights Campaign dinner in Los Angeles, Rep. Jasmine Crockett mocked Texas Governor Greg Abbott by calling him “Governor Hot Wheels”—a remark many interpreted as a direct shot at his disability. She went on to add, “The only thing hot about him is that he’s a hot mess.”

The remark outraged Americans across the country, especially older voters and veterans who understand the challenges faced by people with disabilities. But Crockett didn’t apologize—she deflected. She claimed the insult was aimed at Abbott’s policy of relocating illegal migrants to Democrat-run cities, not his use of a wheelchair.

However, CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski exposed the lie, pointing out that Crockett used the same slur years before Abbott’s migrant relocation plan even began. “She said the comment was about busing—but she used it long before the busing ever happened,” Kaczynski wrote on X.

Crockett’s defiance didn’t stop there. In a new profile by The Atlantic, she confirmed that she has no regrets. When asked if she second-guesses these inflammatory comments, she replied: “I don’t second-guess s*.”**

The congresswoman even tried to shut down the article by demanding the writer revoke all permissions after learning colleagues had been contacted for comment. “She called me and said she was ‘shutting down the profile,’” journalist Elaine Godfrey revealed.

Despite nationwide criticism, Crockett is standing firm—and refusing to acknowledge the cruelty of mocking a disabled governor. “I was elected to speak up for the people I represent,” she said.

But many conservatives see this as yet another example of liberal double standards—where Democrats can insult disabled Republicans with impunity, while the media turns a blind eye.
