House GOP Deals Major Blow To Anti-Trump Judges

Do these activist judges think they are in charge or the president?

In a decisive stand for executive authority and the rule of law, House Republicans advanced a powerful new bill aimed at curbing liberal activist judges who have repeatedly blocked President Trump’s lawful actions — including emergency deportations of violent illegal gang members from Venezuela.

GOP Fights Back Against Judicial Overreach

On Tuesday, the House Rules Committee, led by Republicans, approved the No Rogue Rulings Act — legislation that would restrict federal judges from issuing nationwide injunctions unless the ruling directly impacts the parties involved in the case.

The bill, passed in a 9-4 vote along party lines, now heads to the House floor for a full vote on Wednesday.

“This is about restoring constitutional order and protecting our sovereign right to enforce immigration law,” said a senior GOP aide. “It’s time to stop unelected judges from holding the entire country hostage with one ruling.”

Liberal Judges Blocking Trump’s Agenda

Since returning to office, President Trump has faced at least 15 sweeping injunctions from activist judges who have worked to obstruct key executive orders. These include:

  • Ending radical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) mandates in federal agencies
  • Restoring military readiness by barring transgender enlistment
  • Phasing out birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants’ children

Just this week, while the committee was meeting, a California judge blocked Trump’s plan to roll back a Biden-era policy that granted 350,000 Venezuelan migrants temporary protected status — allowing them to remain in the U.S. and take American jobs.

Issa: “A Constitutional Solution to a National Crisis”

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), who introduced the bill with backing from Reps. Claudia Tenney (NY), Nick Langworthy (NY), and Nick LaLota (NY), said rogue judges have repeatedly undermined both Congress and the presidency.

“Time and again, a single judge has overturned the will of the people by targeting President Trump’s lawful executive orders,” Issa told The Post. “This bill is a constitutional solution to a growing national crisis.”

Grassley and Hawley Push Similar Bills in the Senate

Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) are also pushing legislation to stop federal courts from issuing blanket rulings with national impact. In a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed, Grassley warned that if the Supreme Court won’t step in, Congress must act.

“The abuse of temporary restraining orders must stop,” Grassley wrote. “Judges should resolve disputes between parties — not remake national policy with the stroke of a pen.”

His bill would also make temporary injunctions immediately appealable, preventing rash, politically motivated rulings from going unchecked.

Courts Protecting Illegal Migrants Over American Safety

In March, U.S. District Judge James Boasberg blocked President Trump from using the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to deport suspected members of Tren de Aragua — a violent Venezuelan gang — to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador.

Despite widespread concern over gang crime and border security, the ACLU and liberal activists claimed the suspects were being denied “due process.” A panel of judges upheld the injunction, and Boasberg is now reviewing whether the administration violated his order by continuing deportation flights.

“This is exactly why this legislation is needed,” one House Republican said. “The courts are protecting dangerous foreign criminals instead of protecting American citizens.”

Fast-Tracking Legal Challenges to Support National Security

Issa’s bill would streamline the appeals process by assigning three-judge panels to hear similar cases across jurisdictions — limiting the power of single judges and ensuring fair, balanced decisions.

Grassley’s plan would also make it easier to overturn improper injunctions, especially those that threaten public safety and national sovereignty.

Democrats Cry Foul as GOP Protects American Interests

Predictably, top House Democrats like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) are lashing out — accusing Republicans of trying to “dismantle the courts.” Raskin attacked Trump’s legal efforts to protect U.S. borders and eliminate federal waste as “lawless.”

But conservatives say the real threat comes from judges who are legislating from the bench, blocking reform, and helping the Left carry out policies they could never pass through Congress.

GOP Goes Further: Impeachment, Removal on the Table

The momentum doesn’t stop with Issa’s bill. Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) has introduced a resolution to impeach Judge Boasberg for obstructing immigration enforcement, while Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) proposed legislation to remove judges who fail to exhibit good behavior — bypassing the 60-vote threshold in the Senate.

“Federal judges are not kings,” said one House source. “If they refuse to follow the Constitution, they must be held accountable.”
