Things are not looking good for Pelosi right now.

Former Speaker and top Democrat Nancy Pelosi, 84, had to go through emergency hip replacement surgery this past Saturday after sustaining an injury during a trip to Luxembourg. Pelosi, who was in the European nation with a Congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, fell following a group photo with other lawmakers and officials earlier this week.

According to Pelosi’s spokesperson, Ian Krager, the surgery was a success, and she is now recovering. “Speaker Emerita Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement and is well on the mend,” Krager said in a statement. He also expressed gratitude towards the medical teams who provided care, including U.S. military personnel at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and staff at the Hospital Kirchberg in Luxembourg.

Pelosi was in Luxembourg to honor the sacrifices made by American soldiers during World War II, particularly those involved in the Battle of the Bulge. The U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg shared a photograph of Pelosi on its official X account, noting her participation in the anniversary ceremonies and highlighting the significance of remembering the past struggles for freedom and democracy.

The former Speaker, who remains a prominent figure in American politics, took a moment to thank those who have reached out with well wishes and prayers. “Speaker Pelosi is deeply moved by the outpouring of support and is committed to continuing her efforts to ensure that every American has access to quality healthcare,” Krager stated.

While her injury was unfortunate, Pelosi’s determination and commitment to public service remain strong. This incident also serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by many American leaders and veterans, whose efforts continue to shape the nation’s history.
