Glad to hear the honest truth for once!
Two brave American astronauts who spent months unexpectedly stranded aboard the International Space Station (ISS) are finally back home—and they’re publicly thanking President Donald J. Trump and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for stepping in when it mattered most.
NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore gave their first interview since returning to Earth, speaking with Fox News’ Bill Hemmer in a powerful segment that aired Monday morning. During the interview, both astronauts expressed sincere appreciation for the leadership and swift action taken by Trump and Musk during their extended time in space.
From Routine Mission to Space Crisis
Williams and Wilmore were launched into space last June on a Boeing Starliner spacecraft. The mission was supposed to last just a few days. But serious issues with the capsule rendered it unsafe for return, leaving the astronauts stuck aboard the ISS for months longer than planned.
It wasn’t until March 18, 2025, that they were finally brought back to Earth—thanks to a rescue effort coordinated with help from Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Astronauts Thank Trump and Musk for Real Leadership
When Hemmer asked what they’d say to President Trump and Elon Musk, astronaut Butch Wilmore didn’t hesitate:
“I respect you. I trust you. You’ve given me no reason not to. I’m grateful that our national leaders are taking part in our human spaceflight program. It’s refreshing. It’s empowering. It’s strengthening for our nation.”
Fellow astronaut Suni Williams added:
“I’m just glad they took notice. Our situation wasn’t ideal, but it made people—including the President and Elon Musk—look closely at what’s happening in space. Our role as a spacefaring nation is vital. It shows that America can do the hard things. We can lead in space, and we can bring our people home.”
Trump, Musk Step Up—Biden Silent
While President Trump and Elon Musk were vocal in supporting the astronauts’ safe return, the Biden administration remained largely silent. Both Trump and Musk have accused Biden of abandoning the astronauts in space—a claim that resonates with many Americans who saw a lack of urgency from the current White House.
Although Williams and Wilmore previously said they didn’t feel abandoned, their comments in this interview make it clear: true leadership came not from Washington insiders, but from bold, visionary Americans like Trump and Musk who prioritize safety, strength, and American greatness.
America’s Space Future Is Bright Again
Under President Trump, the U.S. space program has regained its momentum. With the backing of private innovation from companies like SpaceX, America is proving once again that it can lead the world—not just on Earth, but in the final frontier.
This successful return is more than just a mission accomplished—it’s a symbol of American resolve, technological excellence, and the kind of leadership that gets results.
