This is a disgusting attack from the left.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, former co-host of The View, is speaking out against Joy Behar’s comments about country music star Carrie Underwood, who agreed to perform at President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Behar had sharply criticized Underwood for supporting the event, calling her decision “un-American” and questioning how she could love her country while “normalizing” a “convicted felon” like Trump.
On Hannity, Hasselbeck strongly defended Underwood and fired back at Behar, accusing The View of often excluding voices of reason in their discussions. She reminded viewers that even Whoopi Goldberg had disagreed with Behar’s inflammatory remark.
Hasselbeck highlighted Underwood’s long history of patriotic work, emphasizing her deep ties to America. “Carrie Underwood won American Idol with votes from real Americans. She’s had a tour called All-American Girl and spent countless hours performing for our military through USO tours. This is a woman who loves her country, and to question her patriotism is ridiculous,” Hasselbeck argued.
She also critiqued Behar’s motives, suggesting the liberal co-host was trying to stay relevant by attaching herself to a popular figure like Underwood. “Behar’s comments are all about self-promotion and publicity. She’s grasping at straws to maintain her relevance as the ratings for The View continue to slide,” Hasselbeck said.
Furthermore, Hasselbeck challenged Behar’s logic, asking, “Is every person working at the inauguration—security, custodial staff, volunteers—un-American too? Is that what Joy is implying?”
She also questioned Behar’s stance on supporting strong women, pointing out that Underwood exemplifies the qualities Behar claims to champion. “Carrie is an incredible woman who deserves respect, not baseless attacks. Maybe Behar could learn a thing or two about supporting women with differing viewpoints,” Hasselbeck suggested.
Hasselbeck wrapped up by urging those who can, to attend the historic inauguration. “This is a moment in American history. If you have the chance to be part of it, you should,” she said.
