President Trump Tells Attorney General Pam Bondi: Enough Is Enough
President Donald J. Trump has directed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to crack down on law firms that file frivolous lawsuits against the federal government. His new directive is a major step to restore law and order in a legal system plagued by left-wing lawfare.
Trump’s order highlights a growing concern among conservatives: that radical attorneys are misusing the courts to delay, obstruct, and undermine duly elected leadership.
“Too many law firms treat the legal system as a political weapon,” Trump said in a newly released presidential memo. “It ends now.”
Legal Rules Already Exist—But the Left Ignores Them
Federal civil procedure bars attorneys from filing cases meant to “harass” or “cause unnecessary delay.” But according to President Trump, many liberal law firms are ignoring these rules to wage political war against his administration.
Trump has now called on Bondi, 59, to recommend tougher penalties for law firms abusing the system, including:
- Sanctions and fines
- Revoking federal contracts
- Reviewing access to security clearances
Over 100 Lawsuits Filed Since January — Many Politically Motivated
Since returning to the White House, President Trump has faced an avalanche of legal challenges. In just the last month, federal judges have issued 15 injunctions against Trump’s executive orders—more than any president in modern history.
Among the blocked orders:
- Ending birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants
- Using wartime powers to deport violent Venezuelan gang members
Trump’s legal team is now asking the U.S. Supreme Court to limit lower court injunctions, calling the current system “out of control.”
Left-Leaning Law Firms Under the Microscope
President Trump’s order specifically targets law firms with political motives. His directive calls for a review of government litigation from the past eight years, which includes his first term.
One major example: Elias Law Group, whose founder played a key role in pushing the discredited Steele dossier during the 2016 election. That dossier helped launch the now-debunked Russia hoax that targeted Trump and his supporters.
“Lawyers should defend the rule of law—not partisan witch hunts,” Trump wrote.
Paul Weiss and Perkins Coie Caught in the Crosshairs
Two of the most powerful Democrat-aligned law firms—Paul Weiss and Perkins Coie—are already feeling the heat.
Paul Weiss, known for representing liberal causes, agreed to provide $40 million in pro bono legal services to remain eligible for federal work after Trump’s executive order threatened its security access. The firm has previously supported criminal investigations against the president.
Perkins Coie, meanwhile, briefly won a restraining order against Trump’s move to block its access to federal buildings. The firm helped fund opposition research used by Hillary Clinton’s campaign during 2016—again, part of the Steele dossier operation.
Trump’s Message Is Clear: Lawfare Will No Longer Be Tolerated
President Trump’s strong stance sends a clear message to activist lawyers and law firms: The courtroom is not a playground for political games.
By empowering Attorney General Bondi to hold bad actors accountable, Trump is defending not just his administration—but the Constitution, the rule of law, and everyday Americans fed up with two-tier justice.
