Democrats are trying it yet again.
In a move that stunned even members of his own party, Democratic Rep. Al Green is promising to file yet another round of impeachment articles against President Donald Trump—and he says it will happen before Christmas.
Speaking in Washington, D.C., Green told supporters he plans to introduce the articles as a “privileged resolution,” forcing Congress to address the issue just days before lawmakers head home for the holidays.
“There will be articles of impeachment filed before the Christmas break,” Green vowed.
Democrats Reviving the Same Old Playbook
This announcement comes despite the fact that every previous impeachment attempt against Trump has failed. Trump was impeached twice during his first term but acquitted by the Senate both times.
Now, with Republicans controlling the House of Representatives, any impeachment attempt has virtually no chance of succeeding. But Democrats appear willing to use impeachment as a political weapon—again—in a last-ditch effort to damage Trump’s standing with voters.
Green has targeted Trump for years, previously claiming the President is “unfit for office.” Earlier this year, Rep. Shri Thanedar filed seven impeachment articles against Trump over issues ranging from tariffs to government efficiency. None gained traction.
No Support From Democrat Leadership
Green admitted he didn’t even speak with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries or other Democratic leadership before announcing his newest impeachment attempt. No details about the contents of the articles were provided, raising questions about whether this is a serious effort or simply political theater.
Political experts don’t see this going anywhere.
Heath Brown, a public policy professor at City University of New York, told Newsweek:
“I don’t think these articles of impeachment will go very far.”
Trump Fires Back: “Here We Go Again.”
At a rally earlier this year, President Trump mocked Democrats for their never-ending impeachment obsession:
“Some guy I’ve never even heard of says he’s starting impeachment again. What the hell did I do? Here we go again.”
Trump supporters across the country see this as yet another example of Democrats prioritizing political stunts over real issues like the economy, inflation, border security, and rising crime.
Bottom Line
With Republicans holding the House majority, the chances of Trump being impeached are effectively zero.
But Democrats appear determined to keep the impeachment circus alive—no matter how many times it fails or how out of touch it sounds to Americans who want stability, strength, and leadership heading into 2026.
