Newsom Tries To Sabotage 2026 Midterms

Does Newsom think he’s the president?

California Democrats are once again trying to rig the system—this time with a radical new congressional map aimed squarely at undermining Republican victories and sabotaging the 2026 midterm elections.

On Friday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) rolled out a partisan redistricting plan designed to cancel out Republican-led efforts in Texas. The proposal, backed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, would shred California’s voter-approved independent redistricting commission and replace it with a map drawn by Democrat insiders.

Democrat officials openly admitted their goal: to create five new Democrat-controlled seats in California to neutralize the five new GOP seats in Texas expected under President Trump’s redistricting plan. The targets include strong Republican voices like Reps. Kevin Kiley, Doug LaMalfa, Darrell Issa, Ken Calvert, and David Valadao.

Newsom’s scheme involves a special ballot measure this fall that would suspend California’s independent redistricting commission until the end of the decade. He claims it’s “temporary,” but conservatives see it as yet another power grab designed to cement Democrat control and silence voters.

Even Democrats admit what they’re doing. Newsom bluntly stated: “They do five seats, we do five seats.” That is nothing less than election rigging.

Meanwhile, Democrat lawmakers in Texas have praised California’s plan as the “counterbalance” to Trump’s redistricting victories. Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) even boasted online that he’s “excited” to run in a newly carved district tailored to secure his seat.

The National Democratic Redistricting Committee rushed to endorse Newsom’s plan, framing it as a so-called “measured response.” Republicans, however, see it very differently. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) denounced the scheme, charging that Newsom is tearing apart California’s Constitution and silencing voters in order to boost his presidential ambitions.

NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson pledged to push back hard, declaring that the committee is ready to challenge Newsom’s “unlawful power grab” both in the courtroom and at the ballot box to bring his scheme to a halt.

This isn’t just politics—it’s an assault on election integrity. Democrats in California are once again proving they will rewrite rules, override voters, and trample the Constitution to cling to power.

As the 2026 midterms approach, conservatives must stay alert. The choice is simple: allow Gavin Newsom and Washington Democrats to rig the system—or stand with President Trump and Republicans fighting to protect fair elections, free speech, and the will of the people.
