VIDEO: AOC And Democrats Humiliated Online

Talk about cringe.

A recent TikTok video featuring several female House Democrats has sparked significant backlash across social media. The video, shared by influencer Sulhee Jessica Woo, features Woo alongside Democrat Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Lauren Underwood, Katherine Clark, Judy Chu, Jasmine Crockett, and Susie Lee, as they showcase various “fighting” poses while the Super Smash Brothers video game’s “Choose Your Character” music plays in the background. The clip, posted during Women’s History Month, was meant to empower and celebrate women in politics with hashtags such as #womenwhofight and #girlpower.

However, the video has been widely ridiculed. While Woo, Ocasio-Cortez, and Crockett embraced the playful concept and threw punches in rhythm, the other Congresswomen, including Underwood, Clark, Chu, and Lee, appeared awkward and uncomfortable. This mismatch has led many to call the video cringe-worthy and out of touch.

Critics on social media have called the video “corny” and labeled it as “DNC propaganda,” questioning the authenticity and competence of the lawmakers involved. One commenter sarcastically asked, “Who voted for them?” CNN’s Jake Tapper humorously pointed out that the video seemed to be an attempt by the Democrats to show they know how to oppose effectively, given their lack of a cohesive strategy. Tapper’s comment echoed the frustration many have voiced regarding the Democrats’ current approach to politics.

This moment has come during a week filled with controversy for the Democratic Party. In addition to the TikTok debacle, Democrats faced criticism for failing to stand up for a 13-year-old cancer survivor during President Trump’s address to Congress. Additionally, Texas Rep. Al Green was censured after his outburst during Trump’s speech. Together, these missteps have left many questioning whether the Democrat Party is capable of effectively leading or mounting a serious opposition.
