Trump noted, “He tells me about all the ‘hot’ figures and trends that resonate with his peers, people I might not be familiar with.” He emphasized the importance of family members like Don Jr., Eric, Tiffany, and Ivanka, who are well-versed in engaging with contemporary pop culture. This generational bridge is crucial as around 41 million Gen Z individuals will be eligible to vote in 2024, with 8 million of them turning 18 in time for the November elections.
The youth vote’s significance cannot be overstated. Many young conservatives are expressing optimism about Trump’s outreach, especially following his selection of Ohio Senator JD Vance as a running mate. Vance, as the first Millennial on a presidential ticket, resonates with younger voters and addresses growing concerns about leadership age within the party.
In a landscape where social issues are front and center, Bartiromo pressed Trump to clarify his stance on abortion, especially after Melania Trump’s recent memoir revealed her pro-choice views. In response, Trump highlighted his achievements in returning the issue to the states, reinforcing his belief that the decision should rest with the people rather than the federal government. He stated, “Every legal scholar has recognized that this issue belongs at the state level, and I was proud to make that happen with the help of six brave Supreme Court justices.”
Trump reaffirmed that exceptions to abortion laws should exist for cases of rape, incest, and threats to the mother’s life, positioning himself as a candidate focused on balancing moral values with the needs of the populace.
