During the commencement ceremony at the U.S. Air Force Academy, President Biden had an unexpected fall on Thursday. The White House clarified that he tripped over a sandbag.
This incident occurred approximately two years after another fall while boarding Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews. After the incident in March 2021, where Biden was captured tripping on multiple steps, the White House assured the public that he was “doing 100% fine” and attributed the stumble to strong winds.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that it was quite windy outside and even she had a near-fall while climbing the steps. Former White House communications director Kate Bedingfield also characterized it as nothing more than a misstep on the stairs.
