This is unbelievable.
Former President Donald Trump has voiced strong concerns over what he describes as Democratic interference in his 2024 presidential campaign. He claims that inadequate support from the Secret Service has prevented him from ensuring the safety of his rallies, which he believes has affected crowd sizes at his events.
In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “The Democrats are sabotaging my campaign by not providing enough Secret Service agents for proper security. Instead, they’re allocating resources to themselves, despite their low attendance rates.” He further argued that thousands of supporters are being turned away from his events, which he sees as a form of election interference. “With the weak crowds the Democrats draw, there should be plenty of resources available for us,” he emphasized.
During a rally in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Trump expressed frustration over what he perceived as a lack of attendance, claiming that 50,000 people wanted to join him but were turned away due to resource constraints related to the United Nations assembly in New York. “They told us they couldn’t provide enough security because they were tied up with foreign dignitaries,” he noted, referring to the heightened security measures required for global leaders.
Concerns about Trump’s safety have escalated as he faces multiple threats, including recent assassination attempts. His rallies have seen increased security measures, such as the installation of bulletproof glass, in response to these dangers. The Secret Service has been under scrutiny, particularly after high-profile incidents, including a recent shooting near one of Trump’s events that could have had catastrophic consequences.
In light of these security challenges, Congress recently passed the Enhanced Presidential Security Act, ensuring that both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris receive comparable protection to President Biden. This bipartisan initiative reflects the growing concern about political violence in the current climate.
As Trump continues to campaign, he remains focused on drawing large crowds and energizing his base, viewing every obstacle as part of a larger strategy by Democrats to undermine his candidacy. The former president remains adamant that he will not back down, rallying his supporters to recognize these tactics for what he believes they are: an attempt to thwart a strong Republican voice in the upcoming election.
