Kamala is shaking in her boots.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker recently offered some candid advice about Vice President Kamala Harris’s upcoming debate with former President Donald Trump. In an interview with CNN’s Sara Sidner on Monday, Pritzker emphasized the need for Harris to approach the debate with caution and respect for Trump’s debate prowess.
“Donald Trump should not be underestimated,” Pritzker warned. “He’s demonstrated his debating skills in the past, including in debates against President Biden and Hillary Clinton.” According to Pritzker, Trump has shown a knack for winning debates, suggesting that Harris would face a formidable challenge.
The debate between Trump and Harris is scheduled for September 10, and will be hosted by ABC News. Pritzker noted that while Harris possesses significant capabilities and effective communication skills, these qualities alone may not be sufficient to outmatch Trump. “Harris is a tremendous individual with great talent, but she needs to be prepared for the challenge Trump presents,” Pritzker remarked. He stressed that both candidates come from vastly different perspectives and that Harris needs to clearly articulate her points without being caught off guard by Trump’s tactics.
There has been some controversy surrounding the debate’s format. Harris’s team has been pushing for changes to the debate rules, particularly regarding the use of microphones. The campaign has expressed dissatisfaction with the current guidelines, which were initially set to mirror those used in the June CNN debate between Trump and President Biden. Harris’s spokesperson, Brian Fallon, highlighted this issue in a recent X post, questioning why Trump’s staff appears to be overriding Trump’s own preferences on debate rules.
With the debate approaching, both sides are bracing for a high-stakes encounter that will likely be a focal point in the upcoming election cycle.
