Democrat Mayor Endangers Trump’s ICE

This is unacceptable.

Portland’s Democrat Mayor Keith Wilson is facing backlash after ordering police to tear down security barriers protecting a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility — directly defying federal instructions from the Department of Homeland Security.

The order came just one day after Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem toured the facility with Portland Police Bureau Chief Bob Day, who had cordoned off the area to ensure safety. Yet by Wednesday morning, the protective perimeter was gone — leaving federal agents exposed in one of America’s most unstable cities.

Federal Officials Sound the Alarm

Documents reviewed by Oregon Live reveal that U.S. Attorney Scott Bradford cautioned city officials that federal agents “must be allowed to enter and exit the ICE facility freely, without interference or obstruction.” His office also directed Portland to uphold a security perimeter equal to the one established during Secretary Noem’s recent visit.

But Mayor Wilson brushed off those warnings. In a letter to DHS General Counsel James Percival, Wilson insisted that he and his local police would make decisions “based on what they believe is in the best interest of Portland.”

Critics say Wilson’s actions echo years of anti-law enforcement policies that have turned Portland from a thriving American city into a hotspot of crime, vandalism, and lawless protests.

Trump Steps In — But Democrats Push Back

President Donald J. Trump condemned the mayor’s defiance and called for immediate federal protection for ICE and law-abiding citizens.

“Following a request from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, I’ve instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to deploy every resource needed to defend Portland and protect our ICE facilities, which have come under attack from Antifa and other radical domestic groups,” President Trump stated on Truth Social. “If full force is required, it will be used.”

However, Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops has been stalled by Democrat obstruction and endless legal wrangling — a move many see as prioritizing politics over public safety.

A City in Decline Under Progressive Leadership

Portland, once celebrated for its beauty and community spirit, has become a cautionary tale of what happens when radical left policies replace common sense and law enforcement.

Businesses have fled, crime has soared, and federal officers — including ICE agents — are being left to fend for themselves.

By dismantling security around a federal facility, Mayor Wilson not only endangered Trump’s federal officers but also sent a clear message: in Portland, ideology matters more than safety.

Bottom Line

As America faces renewed threats at its borders and in its cities, this latest Portland incident is another reminder of why strong leadership and respect for law and order matter more than ever.

President Trump’s administration continues to defend America’s borders, ICE facilities, and brave federal agents — even as Democrat mayors like Keith Wilson undermine them at home.
