Kamala wants be the president but can’t even string a coherent sentence together.
On Sunday, VP Kamala Harris faced widespread criticism on social media after delivering an extended discourse on the “dual spirit of democracy” during a campaign stop in Rochester, Pennsylvania. Harris, who was accompanied by her potential VP Tim Walz, addressed supporters and delivered another ‘word salad’ before heading to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where she is set to be formally nominated for the presidency.
During the event, Kamala offered a complex explanation of U.S. democracy, explaining it as simultaneously “incredibly tough” and “incredibly fragile.” She elaborated that democracy’s strength lies in its capacity to uphold and protect individual rights, but warned of its fragility, emphasizing that its survival depends on the ongoing commitment of its citizens.
“This election is about recognizing the significance of our nation on the global stage,” Harris remarked. “Democracy, in its essence, possesses a duality. It is immensely powerful when it functions as intended, safeguarding our rights and liberties. However, it remains extremely delicate, relying on our collective effort to preserve it.”
The Vice President’s comments quickly gained traction online, where many critics dubbed her statements as “word salad.” Republicans seized the opportunity to question Harris’s capability and authenticity, arguing that her off-the-cuff remarks reveal a troubling lack of coherence when she is not following a prepared script.
Outkick.com founder Clay Travis was quick to highlight the issues with Harris’s impromptu speaking, noting, “They took Harris away from the teleprompter today in Pennsylvania. It did not go well.” Radio host Buck Sexton also weighed in, criticizing Harris as lacking in intelligence and charm, suggesting her public appearances could further damage her campaign.
Video journalist Nick Sortor expressed disbelief, questioning the content of Harris’s speech: “THIS is why Kamala is not allowed to go off script. Holy smokes. Anyone know what the HELL she is talking about here??!”
Conservative voices were not the only ones scrutinizing Harris’s performance. GOP communicator Matt Whitlock pointed out the Vice President’s limited media interactions, remarking, “In case anyone was wondering why they have kept Kamala away from the camera and only in front of teleprompters…”
This latest incident continues a pattern of criticism surrounding Harris’s public speaking and media presence. Despite her role as a leading candidate, her reluctance to engage in formal press conferences and her tendency to offer convoluted explanations have sparked concerns about her readiness for the presidency.
Harris’s approach to discussing democracy echoes past comments she made in October 2022, where she similarly emphasized the dual aspects of democracy’s strength and fragility. However, her recent speech has intensified scrutiny from opponents who question her effectiveness as a candidate.
