Liberals will cry about anything Trump does but completely ignore what Democrats are doing.

Recently, former President Donald Trump encountered some criticism after a video surfaced showing him signing the American flag, which some believe might be in violation of the U.S. Flag Code. The footage, which was widely shared by Patriot Takes, depicts Trump autographing the flag with a black marker during a visit to a fire department in Pennsylvania on September 11.

In the video, several supporters can be seen holding down the flag while Trump signs one of the white stripes. This moment quickly gained traction online, amassing over a million views and sparking a flurry of reactions on X (formerly Twitter). Critics took to the platform to voice their disapproval, accusing Trump and his supporters of disrespecting the American flag.

One user on X condemned the act, stating, “This is a disgrace. The American flag is being desecrated, and his supporters are just standing by, approving of this disrespect.” Another user expressed outrage, saying, “Everyone involved in this should be held accountable. It’s a violation of the flag code, and it’s disgraceful.”

Additionally, a third comment called for more severe consequences, arguing, “This man shows no respect for our country. Can someone put him behind bars already? It’s always about him and not about the nation.”

According to Section 8 of the U.S. Flag Code, “The U.S. flag should never have on nor attached to it any mark, letter, insignia, figure, design, word, picture or drawing of any nature.” This code aims to ensure that the American flag is treated with the utmost respect.

Trump himself has referenced the Flag Code in the past. In 2017, he spoke out against flag burning, highlighting the importance of adhering to the standards set forth in the code. He emphasized, “In 1942, Congress established the United States Flag Code to create official standards for how we honor our flag. We teach every generation of Americans to show our flag the respect it deserves.”

It’s important to note that while the Flag Code outlines proper flag etiquette, it does not impose penalties for violations.
