Pelosi Finally Caught Red-Handed

Pelosi needs to stop lying.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a controversial claim about the number of migrants entering the United States under President Joe Biden compared to President Donald Trump. Pelosi suggested that fewer people came across the southern border under Biden’s administration. However, this assertion was quickly fact-checked by The Washington Post, which found that Pelosi’s claim was misleading, at best.

According to The Washington Post, the facts tell a different story: “At least four times as many migrants entered the U.S. under Biden than under Trump.” Pelosi’s statement was debunked, and her comments were deemed “off course” by the outlet. In fact, when examining the broader picture of immigration, the number of migrants reaching the U.S. has skyrocketed under Biden’s watch, a stark contrast to the more controlled numbers seen under President Trump.

Pelosi later clarified her remarks, claiming she was actually referring to deportation numbers, not border crossings. She pointed to a Reuters report that suggested Biden was on pace to exceed Trump’s deportation numbers in fiscal year 2024. However, this report did not support her claim. In fact, the report revealed that Biden is likely to deport fewer people over his four years than Trump did over his entire presidency. The Washington Post even awarded Pelosi “Four Pinocchios” for this false claim.

In addition to her immigration misstep, Pelosi stirred up further controversy by suggesting that Vice President Kamala Harris might have been a stronger candidate if President Biden had dropped out of the 2020 race sooner. Pelosi speculated that Harris could have benefited from more time to make her case to the American public. MSNBC host Symone Sanders Townsend didn’t hold back, calling Pelosi out for her role in the downfall of Biden’s presidential campaign. Townsend questioned Pelosi’s political acumen, asking where her famous “calculator” had gone.

Pelosi’s recent remarks highlight a troubling pattern of misdirection and mixed messages, whether it’s on immigration policy or the future of the Democratic Party. As the Biden administration faces mounting criticism on multiple fronts, the former House Speaker’s credibility continues to falter. For those concerned about the direction the country is headed under Biden, Pelosi’s latest gaffes only reinforce the notion that leadership in Washington is desperately out of touch with reality.
