Republican Governor Issues New Warning To Biden

Will Biden really go this far to allow illegals to cross the border?

During an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem expressed concerns about the potential federalization of the National Guard at the U.S.-Mexico border. Noem cautioned against what she perceived as Democrats pushing President Biden to infringe upon states’ rights. She emphasized the historical significance, stating that it would be the first time in American history that soldiers would be paid to stand down and not protect the nation.

Governor Noem underscored the gravity of the situation, warning that if the National Guard were federalized, it would strip her of her authority as governor and commander-in-chief, potentially escalating into a conflict. This cautionary statement comes in response to previous calls from Texas Democratic Representatives Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar for President Biden to take control of the Texas National Guard if Governor Greg Abbott continued to resist a Supreme Court ruling regarding the removal of razor wire at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The installation of razor wire was part of Governor Abbott’s aggressive measures to curb illegal immigration, a move that has faced criticism from Democrats. Noem disclosed in the interview that her administration is contemplating increased support for Texas in deterring immigration, including sending additional resources such as razor wire and security personnel.

As Republican lawmakers continue to criticize President Biden’s border policies and the surge of migrants, the president has signaled openness to substantial changes. Biden urged Congress to consider a bipartisan Senate deal that combines border enforcement measures with aid to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. However, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, indicated skepticism about the GOP-led House approving the Senate’s potential border deal. The ongoing debate highlights the complex and contentious nature of immigration policy and border security in the United States.
