In a shocking turn of events, the Republican National Committee finally listened to former President Donald Trump and decided to withdraw from its participation in presidential debates sanctioned by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
Trump has long called the CPD biased against Republicans and it looks like the RNC finally listened to him by saying the CPD has not “served the interest of the American people.”
According to Newsmax, following the decision RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel stated, “Debates are an important part of the democratic process, and the RNC is committed to free and fair debates.”
She further added, “The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage.”
McDaniel further pointed out that the RNC is now going to look for a newer and better platform to guarantee that future Republican presidential nominees are not treated in a bias manner.
