This needed to happen sooner.
President Donald Trump is once again reversing Joe Biden’s failed policies — this time by pulling nearly $700 million in federal funding from so-called “green energy” projects that were wasting taxpayer money and delivering nothing in return.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Friday that 12 offshore wind projects — including ones in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut — have been stripped of funding. The money will now be redirected into real infrastructure and rebuilding America’s shipbuilding strength.
Biden’s “Green New Scam” Gets Shut Down
The canceled projects include:
- $10.5 million for Connecticut’s Bridgeport Port Authority Wind Port
- $20.5 million for New Jersey’s Paulsboro Wind Port
- $48 million for Staten Island’s Arthur Kill Terminal
“These wasteful projects cost billions, kill jobs, and offer nothing for working Americans,” Duffy said. “Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg bent over backwards to push their Green New Scam, while ignoring our maritime industry. Thanks to President Trump, we’re investing in real infrastructure, not fantasy windmills.”
Trump: “Windmills Are Ruining Our Country”
At a White House Cabinet meeting, President Trump blasted offshore wind farms in his trademark style:
“We’re not allowing any more windmills. They’re ugly, they don’t work, they kill birds, and they wreck your property values. If you live near one, your home is worth less than half. They’re destroying America.”
Trump’s crackdown comes after years of failure. In New Jersey, the Danish company Orsted walked away from two offshore projects in 2023 — despite being handed over $1 billion in subsidies. At Paulsboro, massive steel pipes meant for turbines were reduced to scrap metal. And on Staten Island, the Arthur Kill Terminal never even broke ground.
Redirecting to Real American Strength
The Department of Transportation confirmed that the withdrawn funds will be used to:
- Expand U.S. shipbuilding capacity
- Modernize ports for global trade
- Support reliable energy from America’s natural resources
“The Trump Administration has refocused on rebuilding our shipyards and ports, unleashing dependable energy, and restoring America’s maritime dominance,” the agency said.
Bottom Line: Trump Saves Taxpayers, Biden Loses Again
By scrapping Biden’s broken offshore wind schemes, President Trump is saving taxpayers money, boosting U.S. shipbuilding, and steering America away from globalist green experiments.
This is yet another reminder: When Trump leads, America wins. When Biden leads, Americans pay the price.
