Trump is coming for Hollywood.
On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump revealed the appointment of three notable figures as Special Envoys to Hollywood, aiming to revive the struggling industry and bring back jobs and revenue to the United States. In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced that actor Jon Voight, director Mel Gibson, and actor Sylvester Stallone would serve in this key role, focusing on revitalizing Hollywood, which has seen a significant decline in business over the past several years as foreign markets gained ground.
Trump’s message was clear: “These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!” He emphasized that Hollywood, once the hub of global entertainment, had lost much of its power to overseas markets, and under the leadership of these three influential figures, it would be restored to its former glory — bigger, better, and stronger than ever.
Sylvester Stallone, 78, has been one of Trump’s staunchest supporters in the entertainment world. At the America First Policy Institute Gala last November, Stallone likened Trump to “the second George Washington” for his extraordinary ability to lead and challenge the status quo. He praised Trump for having done what many thought was impossible, reshaping the American political landscape. “Without him, you can imagine what the world would look like. We’ve got the second George Washington. Congratulations!” Stallone said.
Similarly, Mel Gibson, 69, voiced his strong support for Trump in the 2024 election, offering sharp criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris. During an interaction with reporters at Los Angeles International Airport, Gibson made it clear where his political loyalties lie, quipping about the dire consequences of Harris’ potential leadership. “That isn’t good. A terrible track record, a disgusting track record, zero policies to talk about,” he said, dismissing Harris as unqualified for the role.
Jon Voight, 86, a vocal conservative, has long been an ardent Trump supporter. He has consistently praised the President, calling him “the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.” Voight was also honored by the Trump administration with the National Medal of Arts in 2019 for his contributions to American culture. The veteran actor has been a tireless advocate for Trump’s policies and values, frequently urging fellow Americans to stand behind the President in defense of the nation’s greatness.
Through these appointments, President Trump is signaling his commitment to putting America first, even in the entertainment industry. With the leadership of these Hollywood icons, Trump is poised to restore the industry’s dominance, making it a symbol of American strength and ingenuity once again.
