Is Trump right or just angry?

On Wednesday former President Trump launched another attack against his top potential rival in the 2024 presidential election, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who during an interview with Piers Morgan took a swing at both Trump’s character and leadership skills.

In his statement, Trump wrote that now that “Ron DeSanctimonious” is fighting back because his poll ratings against Trump are decreasing, he is going to tell everyone the facts. He then proceeded to call DeSantis an “average Governor” and that in Florida DeSantis had won “1.2 million fewer Votes” less than the ones Trump had received. He added that Florida had been doing well for years and it had nothing to do with DeSantis.

He then continued by attacking DeSantis’ record as governor, claiming that at the start he had been in favor of lockdowns and that Florida as a state is “among the worst in the country” on both education and crime rates.

The tension between the two Republicans has been apparent for months, but following DeSantis’ recent comments about Trump’s potential indictment, the tension increased. Trump might get indicted for his role in the hush payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign in exchange for her silence over their affair. When addressing the potential indictment, DeSantis said that he doesn’t “know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair” adding “I just, I can’t speak to that.”

DeSantis did condemn the investigation being led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg who he called a “Soros-funded prosecutor” who is “pursuing a political agenda.”
