Trump, GOP Cause Democrat Election Panic

Democrats are hitting the panic button in — and for good reason.

A tight new poll shows President Donald Trump’s Republican ally, Jack Ciattarelli, surging in the race for governor against Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill, setting off alarms inside the DNC.

Democrats Losing Their Grip in Deep-Blue New Jersey

New Jersey, long seen as a Democrat fortress, is suddenly in play. A new John Zogby Strategies poll finds Ciattarelli within single digits — just eight points behind Sherrill, 50% to 42%, with 16% still undecided.

Independent voters, fed up with high taxes, crime, and open-border chaos, could easily swing this race red. Pollster Jeremy Zogby called the number of undecided voters “the most critical factor,” adding that independents are split on who will fix the state’s biggest problems — crime and skyrocketing state taxes.

Political analysts say this race could become a national turning point — a bellwether for the 2026 midterms and a sign that Trump-backed Republicans are taking the fight to blue states once thought untouchable.

Sherrill’s Scandal Sparks Outrage and Backlash

Democrats are also dealing with a major scandal that’s thrown Sherrill’s campaign into chaos. Reports revealed that her military records were released, showing she was barred from walking at her 1994 Naval Academy graduation after refusing to expose classmates involved in a cheating scandal.

The leak has sparked accusations, counter-accusations, and a full-blown political storm. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries demanded a criminal investigation, calling the release a “violation of federal privacy laws.” Sherrill’s team quickly blamed Ciattarelli’s campaign, calling it a “coordinated political assault.”

But conservatives aren’t buying it. Many see it as a classic Democrat distraction tactic to avoid tough questions about her record, the economy, and the ongoing border crisis.

Trump Enters the Fight — and Fires Back Hard

President Donald Trump isn’t sitting this one out. On Truth Social, he blasted Sherrill and praised Ciattarelli:

“Jack Ciattarelli is tough on crime and cutting taxes — two things people demand today. He will be a GREAT governor. Sherrill wants open borders, men in women’s sports, and all the things that almost destroyed America. We need Jack in New Jersey!”

Trump’s endorsement electrified the state GOP, with local organizers reporting a massive spike in volunteer turnout ahead of early voting on October 25.

Democrats Scramble to Contain the Damage

The Democratic National Committee rushed to defend Sherrill. Spokesman Abhi Rahman tried to paint her as a “fighter for affordability,” accusing Ciattarelli of “raking in cash from billionaire landlords” — an argument that’s fallen flat with older voters battling inflation and high property taxes.

Meanwhile, Republican campaign offices across the state report record engagement from seniors, veterans, and working-class families — many of whom say they’re tired of being ignored by Democrat elites.

The Bottom Line: Momentum Is on Trump’s Side

With the race tightening and Election Day approaching on November 4, Democrats are in full-blown panic mode. The Garden State could become the shock upset of 2025 — proof that Trump’s America First message is winning hearts, even in blue territory.

As one campaign insider put it: “If New Jersey flips red, the entire Democrat map collapses.”
