Trump Attacks House Republicans

Trump had grown impatient.

President Donald Trump erupted on Truth Social late Wednesday night, calling out House Republicans for stalling a critical procedural vote on his signature pro-growth legislation — the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

“Massive tax cuts and a thriving economy under my leadership — now compared to record-breaking tax hikes and a collapsing economy under the Democrats. So why are Republicans hesitating?” Trump posted, blasting GOP lawmakers for stalling at such a critical turning point for the country.

The President’s America First agenda is now at risk — and Trump made it clear who’s to blame.

“MAGA IS NOT HAPPY, AND IT’S COSTING YOU VOTES!!!” he warned, unleashing frustration that reflects the mood of millions of patriotic Americans watching from home.

“FOR REPUBLICANS, THIS SHOULD BE AN EASY YES VOTE. RIDICULOUS!!!” Trump added moments later, firing back at what many conservatives see as weak-kneed obstruction from within the GOP.

Five House Republicans — Keith Self (TX), Andrew Clyde (GA), Victoria Spartz (IN), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), and Thomas Massie (KY) — voted against advancing debate on the bill. Another eight Republican holdouts, including several aligned with the House Freedom Caucus, delayed their votes as conservatives demand stronger enforcement of the Senate-approved changes.

Despite the gridlock, Trump allies in the House remain confident.

They’re going to vote for it. They’re not opposed to the bill,” said Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. “Don’t let perfection stand in the way of greatness. The President will be signing this bill into law on July 4th. Record that.

That confidence hasn’t yet translated into momentum. The rules vote remained stalled after a separate procedural measure dragged on for nearly eight hours, showing just how dysfunctional Washington has become — even under a Republican-controlled House.

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), working to rally support, told Fox News host Sean Hannity that he’s committed to getting the vote across the finish line.

“I’ll keep it open as long as it takes,” Johnson said. “I made a promise to my members, and we’re going to get this done.

If the rules vote clears, lawmakers would move into an hour of formal debate before casting a final vote on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — a transformational package aimed at cutting taxes, slashing red tape, bringing back jobs, and restoring economic power to everyday Americans.
