President Donald Trump is once again proving that results matter more than party lines.
In a surprising twist, Trump praised Washington, D.C.’s Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser for working hand-in-hand with his administration to restore law and order in the crime-plagued capital.
Trump Praises Bowser for Backing National Guard Deployment
On Monday, Trump posted to Truth Social that Mayor Muriel Bowser’s popularity had soared after teaming up with him and his administration to drive crime in Washington, D.C., down to nearly nothing.
Trump pointed out that unlike leaders in blue states such as Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, California Gov. Gavin “Newscum” Newsom, and Chicago’s failed mayor, Bowser chose cooperation over politics. “Instead of wasting time defending violent crime, she worked with us to ELIMINATE it,” Trump said.
Crime Drops Dramatically in Washington, D.C.
The results speak for themselves. Bowser admitted crime has plunged since partnering with Trump’s law-and-order push:
- Carjackings down 87%
- Overall violent crime down 45%
“When neighborhoods see fewer carjackings, shootings, and robberies, people feel safer—and they truly are safer,” Bowser said at a press conference.
Trump claimed Bowser’s approval rating has soared 25 points since the partnership began on August 11. While the polling source is unclear, even The Washington Post confirmed Bowser’s numbers were rising.
Trump Says Blue Cities Could See the Same Results
Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to call out other crime-ridden cities. “Wouldn’t it be nice to say that about Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and even the crime-drenched city of Baltimore???” he asked. “It can happen, and it can happen FAST—if Democrat governors work with us!”
Trump also reached out to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, saying he would gladly send in the National Guard if she asked. He emphasized that he gets along with her and wants the cooperation to be handled in a “friendly” way.
National Guard + Federal Law Enforcement = Real Results
Since Trump’s crackdown began, National Guard troops have worked with the FBI, U.S. Park Police, and D.C.’s Metropolitan Police. They’ve provided crucial backup while local authorities carried out arrests.
Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed the results:
- 1,599 arrests in just weeks
- 165 illegal guns seized off the streets
Trump hailed the progress but warned Bowser not to slip back into liberal politics, saying the capital’s turnaround is a “tremendous victory” that should last indefinitely.
A Blueprint for America’s Blue Cities
This partnership followed the Trump administration’s removal of Black Lives Matter Plaza outside the White House, a move meant to drive home his belief that restoring law and order must take priority over political games.
If D.C. can go from chaos to calm, Trump says, there’s no reason America’s other crime-ridden blue cities can’t do the same—if their leaders swallow their pride and put citizens first.
