Trump-Hating Country Cuts Off Flights To US

Tensions continue to escalate.

Canadians Boycotting U.S. Travel Amid Tariff Disputes

In a move that signals worsening relations between Canada and the United States, a Canadian airline has announced the cancellation of flights to Nashville, Tennessee—a city already impacted by Canadian tariffs.

This decision comes as Canadians increasingly boycott American goods and travel destinations, following tariffs imposed by President Trump. From removing Tennessee whiskey from store shelves to booing the U.S. national anthem at major sports events, the anti-American sentiment is growing.

Massive Drop in Canadian Travel to the U.S.

According to new travel industry data, Canadians are canceling trips to the U.S. at record rates. A report from Flight Centre Travel Group Canada revealed that:

Leisure travel bookings to U.S. cities dropped 40% in February compared to last year.
1 in 5 Canadians canceled a U.S. trip over the past three months.

This shift in travel habits could have a major financial impact on U.S. tourism, particularly in cities like Nashville, which rely on Canadian visitors.

Canadian Airlines Scaling Back U.S. Flights

Flair Airlines, a budget airline, has officially scrapped its only route to Tennessee for the upcoming travel season.

“We can confirm that Flair Airlines will not operate flights to Nashville this summer.” said Kim Bowie, the airline’s director of communications.

The impact is significant. Tennessee stands to lose 18,000 airline seats, according to Mark Ezell, the state’s Commissioner of Tourist Development.

While Ezell acknowledged the challenges, he remains hopeful, emphasizing Tennessee’s world-class attractions like the Great Smoky Mountains and Graceland as key draws.

Ezell questioned, “Would you really want to pass up the chance to see the Smoky Mountains? Would you really want to skip visiting Graceland?”

More Canadian Airlines Cutting U.S. Travel

Flair Airlines isn’t the only Canadian carrier scaling back on flights to the U.S.

Air Canada has announced service reductions to Arizona, Florida, and Las Vegas.
WestJet has seen a major shift in bookings toward Mexico and the Caribbean.
Sunwing Airlines has canceled all U.S. routes entirely.
Air Transat has also reduced its U.S. service.

Meanwhile, Porter Airlines has quietly stopped promoting American travel destinations, fearing backlash from Canadian travelers.

U.S. Airlines Feeling the Impact

This sharp decline in Canadian travelers is bad news for U.S. airlines like Delta, Southwest, and American Airlines, which have all reported falling demand.

Amid economic uncertainty, rising airfare costs, and high-profile airline incidents, the travel industry is facing growing turbulence.

However, as Ezell pointed out, the U.S. remains home to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations.

Will Canadians continue to stay away, or will America’s unmatched beauty and heritage win them back?
