Trump Makes New Promise To Americans

Trump has a message for concerned American citizens.

President Donald Trump delivered a major promise to the American people this week, assuring families, seniors, and small business owners that relief from rising prices is finally on the way. Speaking to hundreds of McDonald’s owners, operators, and suppliers at the brand’s Impact Summit in Washington, D.C., Trump laid out his plan to keep inflation falling and restore true affordability to everyday life.

The president reminded the audience that he walked into an economy wrecked by years of inflation, saying his administration has been working nonstop to reverse the damage.

Prices are coming down,” Trump said firmly. “Nobody has done what we’ve done in terms of pricing. We took over a mess. We had the highest inflation in the history of our country, and now we have normal inflation.”

Inflation Still Hits Families Hard — But Trump Says Change Is Coming

While inflation has recently hovered around 3%, the cost of basic goods remains a major concern for millions of Americans. The Economist’s well-known Big Mac Index—a global measure of purchasing power—shows the average price of the classic burger rising from $5.69 to $6.01 since last year. Ground beef prices have climbed as well, jumping from $5.67 to $6.32 per pound, according to Federal Reserve data.

These increases are felt most by seniors, working parents, and middle-class Americans already stretched thin by high grocery bills, rising utility costs, and record energy prices.

To provide direct relief, the Trump administration recently eased tariffs on beef, coffee, tropical fruits, and other food products, a move designed to lower prices across grocery stores and restaurants nationwide.

“We have it down to a low level,” Trump said. “But we’re going to get it a little bit lower. We want perfection.”

Trump Warns: America Avoided Economic Disaster in 2024

The president didn’t hold back when discussing what might have happened if former Vice President Kamala Harris had won the 2024 election.

Trump said the economy would have been a “catastrophe” and warned the nation could have faced bankruptcy under Democrat leadership. Instead, he said, Americans should be grateful that his administration is now working aggressively to rebuild financial stability.

You are so damn lucky that I won that election,” Trump told the crowd, drawing loud applause.

Trump Praises McDonald’s Workers and America’s Working Class

Trump also highlighted the hardworking men and women who keep McDonald’s—and America—running. He praised staff for serving police officers, truck drivers, nurses, construction workers, and busy families who depend on affordable meals and reliable service.

“Before the sun rises, you’re serving hot coffee to construction workers, nurses, and police officers going to the job,” he said. “In the evening, you’re there for moms and their kids rushing from school to sports. And late at night, your lights are still on when the long-haul trucker pulls in for a meal and the best Coca-Cola in America.”

He also reminded the audience of his memorable 2024 campaign moment when he worked the drive-thru at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s, joking that he might be the first president to ever serve fries before serving in the Oval Office.

Trump Reveals His Favorite McDonald’s Order

Trump closed his remarks with a moment of humor, revealing his go-to McDonald’s order: the Filet-O-Fish—with one small request.

“I like the fish,” he said. “You could do a little bit more tartar sauce.”
