Can this actually happen?
Bannon: “Trump Will Run and Win in 2028”
Former White House strategist Steve Bannon made a bold prediction: Donald Trump will run for president again in 2028—and win. In a recent interview, Bannon dismissed speculation about his own political ambitions, instead throwing his full support behind the 45th and 47th president.
“I firmly believe President Trump will run and win again in 2028. I’ve already endorsed him,” Bannon told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo. “A leader like Trump only comes around once in a century, and we’re lucky to have him now.”
Trump has teased the idea of a third term on multiple occasions, despite the 22nd Amendment limiting presidents to two terms. Most recently, at a White House St. Patrick’s Day event, Trump made a comment that stirred speculation.
“Taoiseach, I want to thank you again for being here. Hopefully, we’ll be doing this at least three more times,” Trump said with a smile. “When I say that, the media goes crazy.”
Can Trump Legally Run for a Third Term?
While the U.S. Constitution currently limits presidents to two terms, some Republicans are pushing to change that. Last month, Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) introduced a constitutional amendment allowing a president to serve three terms instead of two.
“Trump has proven himself to be the only leader in modern history capable of reversing America’s decline and restoring our country to greatness,” Ogles stated. “He must be given the time necessary to accomplish that mission.”
At the recent Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), many Trump supporters were spotted wearing “Trump 2028” stickers, fueling further speculation.
Bannon Hints at 2028 Strategy: “We’re Working on It”
During the interview, Bannon was pressed on how Trump could return for another term. His response hinted at behind-the-scenes efforts to keep the movement alive.
“We’re working on it,” Bannon said. “We have a few options. Let’s just say that. We’ll see what the definition of term limits really means.”
Bannon also noted how Trump’s remarkable comeback in 2024 was once considered a “long shot.” After the 2020 election, many doubted he could return to the White House. Yet, he not only dominated the Republican primary but went on to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
“This victory was years in the making,” Bannon explained. “We had to get organized, drive that win, and lay out a long-term strategy. That’s what we’re seeing now through initiatives like Project 2025 and the America First think tanks.”
Democrats Push Back on Trump 2028 Possibility
Not surprisingly, Democrats in Congress are strongly opposing the idea of Trump running again. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) introduced a resolution reaffirming that the 22nd Amendment prohibits a third term.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media continues to push narratives aimed at stopping Trump’s potential return.
Americans Weigh In: Could Trump Run Again?
A recent YouGov poll found that 52% of Americans believe Trump will try to stay in office beyond 2028.
- 21% said “definitely”
- 31% said “probably”
With millions of Americans still backing the America First movement, Trump’s political future remains one of the hottest topics in the country.
What’s Next for Trump & the Conservative Movement?
While no official 2028 announcement has been made, one thing is clear: Trump’s influence isn’t fading anytime soon. With massive grassroots support, ongoing policy initiatives, and a deep commitment to putting America First, the road to Trump 2028 is being paved.
