Trump Makes Top US Enemy Crumble

Will the liberal media report on this?

In a major victory for American energy producers, China has officially dropped its 125% tariff on U.S. ethane imports, according to a new Reuters report.

This latest move proves President Trump’s “America First” trade strategy is working — and Beijing knows it.

Trump’s Pressure Pays Off

The steep tariff was imposed just weeks ago as part of China’s retaliation against President Donald Trump’s bold “Liberation Day” tariffs. China purchases nearly half of America’s ethane exports every year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Several major Chinese companies — including Satellite Chemical, SP Chemicals, Sinopec, Sanjiang Fine Chemical, and Wanhua Chemical Group — rely heavily on U.S. ethane to keep their operations running.

American energy giants like Enterprise Products Partners and Energy Transfer stand to reap immediate benefits from China’s reversal.

China Is Folding Under Trump’s Tough Trade Stance

Ethane now joins a growing list of American goods — including pharmaceuticals, microchips, and aircraft engines — that China has exempted from its retaliatory tariffs.

Last week, Chinese officials even asked businesses to identify critical U.S. goods they need free from tariffs, signaling growing desperation in Beijing.

White House: Trump Tariffs Are Crippling China’s Economy

Speaking from the White House Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made it clear: President Trump’s tariffs are delivering a powerful economic punch to China.

China’s tariffs are simply unsustainable,” Bessent told reporters. “If they continue, China could lose 10 million jobs very quickly — even a partial rollback could cost them 5 million jobs.”

Bessent reminded Americans that the U.S. holds the winning hand:

“We’re the deficit country. China sells almost five times more to us than we sell to them. The pressure is entirely on them to fold.”

Trump’s Trade Strategy: Putting America First

President Trump originally announced sweeping tariffs on April 2, determined to end decades of one-sided trade deals that hurt American workers.

After careful review, the administration adjusted the policy on April 9: tariffs on Chinese goods were hiked to 145%, while tariffs on other countries were temporarily scaled down to encourage good-faith negotiations.

China retaliated with its own 125% tariff — but today’s rollback shows Trump’s strategy is forcing Beijing back to the table.

New Trade Deals on the Horizon?

Treasury Secretary Bessent also hinted that major trade agreements with India and other Asian allies could be close.

“India has been the most forthcoming,” Bessent noted. “Vice President J.D. Vance’s visit to India last week produced real progress. I expect we’ll see major announcements very soon.”

Bottom Line: Trump’s Tariffs Are Working — And America Is Winning

Thanks to President Trump’s bold leadership, American energy exports are back in demand — and China is learning that in this new era of fair trade, the United States will not be pushed around.

Stay tuned: more wins for American workers and industries are on the way.
