Tucker Carlson Endorses Trump’s Biggest Hater

This was shocking to see.

Tucker Carlson stunned many conservatives after making surprisingly positive comments about California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat who is widely expected to play a major role in the 2028 presidential race.

The remarks caught attention because Carlson has spent years criticizing Democratic leaders and recently found himself in an increasingly public feud with President Donald Trump.

Now, some conservatives are asking a simple question: Why is Tucker Carlson suddenly praising Gavin Newsom?

During a recent podcast appearance with comedian and political commentator Jimmy Dore, the conversation turned to Newsom and his political future.

Dore joked that Newsom was “fantastic” and sarcastically suggested he would make America look as polished as his famous hairstyle.

While Dore was clearly joking, Carlson focused on something else entirely.

The former Fox News host argued that Newsom possesses a rare political talent that many elected officials lack.

“It feels like he’s the nominee,” Carlson said while discussing the 2028 election.

When Dore noted that Newsom has a gift for public speaking, Carlson quickly agreed.

“He’s unbelievable,” Carlson responded.

The praise didn’t stop there.

Carlson went on to describe Newsom as “very charming” and someone who is enjoyable to talk to, even while acknowledging that critics often accuse the California governor of shifting positions when politically convenient.

At one point, Dore compared Newsom’s speaking ability to former President Barack Obama, saying both politicians have a way of making audiences feel optimistic regardless of whether people agree with their policies.

Carlson agreed with that comparison.

The comments stood out because Carlson and President Trump have been locked in a growing disagreement over several major issues in recent months.

Carlson has openly criticized the administration’s approach to foreign policy and questioned decisions surrounding the conflict involving Iran. Those disagreements have created one of the most visible divides within the broader conservative movement.

Trump has fired back at Carlson publicly, dismissing many of the commentator’s criticisms and making it clear that the two men are no longer politically aligned the way they once were.

Despite his praise for Newsom’s communication skills, Carlson did not endorse the California governor’s policies.

Instead, Carlson appeared to be making a different point: successful politicians often rise because of their ability to connect with voters, regardless of ideology.

Still, many conservatives may find it surprising to hear one of the most influential voices on the right speaking so favorably about a Democrat who could eventually become the party’s presidential nominee.

With the 2028 election already beginning to take shape, Carlson’s comments are likely to fuel new debate about the future of both parties, the strength of potential candidates, and whether Newsom could become a serious challenge for Republicans in the years ahead.

One thing is certain: when Tucker Carlson starts complimenting a Democrat many conservatives view as a political opponent, people are going to pay attention.
