Ocasio-Cortez’s Biggest Failure Exposed

While Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushes socialist talking points in Washington, the streets back home are becoming unlivable.

Crime has skyrocketed in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s 14th Congressional District, which spans parts of the Bronx and Queens, rising a shocking 70% since 2019, according to NYPD data. That’s more than double the citywide increase of 30% during the same period.

Crime in Queens and Bronx Spirals Out of Control

The worst-hit area? The 110th Precinct in Queens, which includes the crime-infested Roosevelt Avenue — long associated with human trafficking and illegal prostitution. That neighborhood alone saw a 105% spike in major crimes, the largest of any precinct citywide. The 115th Precinct, covering East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and Corona, saw an 85% increase in violent and property crimes.

Major offenses tracked include murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, grand larceny, and auto theft — all of which are rising fast.

Residents Slam AOC: “She Abandoned Us”

Frustrated constituents say AOC has gone missing while their communities fall apart.

“She doesn’t care. She doesn’t even live here anymore,” said Elmhurst resident Guadelupe Alvarez, 34, a former supporter. “There’s a brothel across from my childhood home. I see drunks, gang members, fights—and nothing gets done.”

Alvarez added: “I used to dream of raising a family here. Now I just want to get out. I brought it up to her at a town hall. She walked away and had an assistant brush me off. Total disrespect.”

Local Leaders Call Out AOC’s Silence on Crime

Republican City Council candidate Ramses Frias didn’t hold back. “People are afraid to leave their homes. She has a platform but won’t use it to protect her own community.”

Even as locals pleaded with the federal government for help this year, AOC remained silent, offering no plan to stop the illegal brothels, gang activity, and rising violence.

By March, after a brief federal cleanup effort, it was back to business as usual: prostitutes working openly in daylight, elderly victims being shoved on sidewalks, and broad-daylight robberies.

AOC’s Radical Anti-Police Agenda Backfires

Critics say AOC’s anti-police rhetoric has fueled this crisis. She didn’t just support the “defund the police” movement — she led the charge, declaring in 2020: “Defunding police means defunding police.

That year, thanks to pressure from AOC and her allies, the NYPD canceled the hiring of over 1,100 new officers.

Since then, she has downplayed the crime wave as “hysteria” and even claimed that “police budgets have nothing to do with crime levels.” She and other “Squad” members also voted against a resolution condemning efforts to defund law enforcement.

Experts Warn: This Is What Lawlessness Looks Like

“This is her district,” said Hannah Meyers, director of public safety at the Manhattan Institute. “She should be focused on protecting her constituents, not blaming the system.”

Meyers pointed out that most crime victims in AOC’s district are minorities. “Talking about systemic racism while ignoring real violence in your own backyard? That’s hypocrisy.”

Retired police officer and National Police Association spokeswoman Betsy Brantner Smith said it best:

“If you don’t feel safe, you’re not free. AOC talks about fighting the oligarchy, but families in her district are dodging crime, not billionaires.”
