Vance just exposed Newsom.
Vice President JD Vance is calling out California Gov. Gavin Newsom for trying—and failing—to copy President Donald Trump’s unmistakable style.
In a sit-down with Fox News host Will Cain, Vance slammed Newsom’s desperate attempts to mimic Trump’s online persona.
“You can’t mimic the king. You can’t mimic the master. Be yourself, and people would respect that far more than a cheap knockoff of the President of the United States,” Vance declared.
Newsom’s Bizarre “Trump Act”
In August, Newsom’s press office blasted out a series of strange X posts, filled with all caps, nicknames, and dramatic sign-offs meant to resemble Trump’s signature style.
One post even ranted:
“WOW! TOMORROW HISTORY WILL BE MADE… DONALD ‘THE FAILURE’ TRUMP BE WARNED… LIBERATION DAY FOR AMERICA!!! — GCN.”
The stunt caught attention, and Cain noted it gave Newsom a short-term bump in Democrat polling numbers. A Morning Consult survey showed his support among Democrats and left-leaning independents jumped eight points between June and August.
Vance: “Fake Copies Don’t Win Elections”
Vance dismissed Newsom’s tactics as shallow theater.
“When I see Gavin Newsom trying to act like Donald Trump, it’s the opposite of authenticity,” Vance said. “He’s not being Gavin Newsom—he’s trying to be a fake carbon copy of Donald Trump. And it just doesn’t work.”
Why Trump’s Message Still Dominates
The vice president contrasted Newsom’s phoniness with Trump’s unmatched authenticity, which continues to reshape American politics.
“The lesson of President Trump is clear: be yourself. Authenticity wins,” Vance explained. “And Democrats would do well to stop being so offended by everything and actually laugh once in a while. That’s part of why people love Trump—he’s real.”
Taking Aim at Democrats Beyond California
Vance also weighed in on other Democrats, including New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
“I don’t know the guy, but my sense is he’s had a very good life in this country. It would be nice if, once in a while, he showed gratitude instead of constantly attacking the United States,” Vance said.
He contrasted Mamdani’s hostility with the values of his late grandmother, “Mamaw,” saying she wouldn’t recognize today’s radical Left.
“Mamaw would say this is crazy. She’d know the modern Democratic Party doesn’t represent her—or millions of ordinary Americans,” Vance said.
Bottom Line
🔴 Gavin Newsom can try to copy Trump all he wants—but Americans know there’s only one original.
🔴 JD Vance made it clear: authenticity is why Trump wins, and why Democrats lose.
🔴 The Left may try cheap imitations, but President Trump remains the standard-bearer for real leadership.
