House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is sounding the alarm: if Democrats seize control of Congress in 2026, they will move to impeach President Donald Trump—again.
Appearing on Fox News with Laura Ingraham, Johnson warned:
“We’re going to win the midterms. Absolutely. We’re going to expand our majority. But make no mistake—if Democrats take back the House, their first move will be impeachment.”
Democrats Can’t Let Go of Impeachment
President Trump remains the only president in U.S. history impeached twice, both times driven by Democrats desperate to reverse his victories. In each case, the Senate cleared him.
- First impeachment: Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president, where Democrats falsely claimed he pressured Ukraine to investigate the Bidens.
- Second impeachment: Democrats accused Trump of “inciting” January 6th, even though he explicitly called for peace.
The pattern is clear: every time Democrats lose at the ballot box, they try to use impeachment to silence Trump and his voters.
Democrats Already Filing Articles of Impeachment
Even with Trump back in office, Democrats are still plotting. Earlier this year:
- Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) filed seven impeachment articles accusing Trump of ignoring the Constitution.
- Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) filed another article over U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
This relentless obsession shows where Democrats’ priorities really are: political vendettas, not helping the American people.
A Government in Crisis
Meanwhile, Washington is paralyzed as a government shutdown begins. Democrats blocked Republican funding bills, demanding more spending for Medicaid and Obamacare subsidies.
Speaker Johnson stressed that Republicans want fiscal discipline and real solutions:
“We just need more time to get the appropriations bills through both chambers. What we don’t want is another massive omnibus monster that everyone hates.”
In a surprising twist, three Senate Democrats sided with Republicans—a sign that even some in their party are uneasy with reckless spending.
