Trump, GOP Deporting Top Democrat?

A new immigration firestorm is erupting in New York — and this time, the man under scrutiny isn’t crossing the border. He’s leading in the polls for mayor of New York City.

Republican lawmakers are demanding a federal investigation into NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani, a radical Democrat accused of lying his way to U.S. citizenship. Some Republicans now say he should be stripped of citizenship and deported for allegedly hiding ties to extremist socialist groups.

Republicans Sound the Alarm

Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) has called on the Justice Department to “review every naturalization of the past 30 years — starting with Mamdani.”

“If they’re not Americans, they can’t be in office,” Fine told The Post. “We must find out who’s lying their way into power.”

Trump Allies Want Action

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.), a vocal Trump ally, went even further. Ogles accused Mamdani of committing fraud during his 2018 naturalization, when he allegedly failed to disclose his membership in the Democratic Socialists of America — a group Ogles labeled “a communist organization that should have disqualified him immediately.”

“Deport Mamdani!” Ogles wrote on X. “He’s an antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy New York City.”

Ogles also blasted Mamdani’s support for the “Holy Land Five,” a group convicted in 2008 for sending millions of dollars to Hamas, the Palestinian terror group responsible for murdering civilians.

Communist Ties Under Scrutiny

U.S. immigration law clearly states that affiliation with a communist or totalitarian party can make someone ineligible for citizenship. Applicants are asked directly whether they’ve ever been involved with such groups — a question Mamdani’s critics say he may have answered dishonestly.

President Donald Trump himself weighed in, calling Mamdani a “communist lunatic” and urging Republicans to “root out corruption wherever it hides.” Mamdani, for his part, denies being a communist but has refused to disavow his socialist ties.

Democrats Panic as Probe Looms

A spokesperson for the Justice Department declined to confirm whether an investigation is underway, citing delays from the Democrats’ government shutdown.

Meanwhile, Democrat Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), who represents a heavily Muslim district, called for Ogles to be censured — a move Republicans say is an attempt to silence legitimate questions about national security.

As calls grow louder, Trump-aligned lawmakers insist the DOJ must act. “No one is above the law — not even a Democrat politician,” one GOP strategist said.

For now, Mamdani’s silence speaks volumes.
