Trump just got backstabbed again and MAGA is furious.
In a move that shocked many conservatives across the country, two federal judges appointed by President Donald Trump himself turned their backs on him, rejecting his major defamation lawsuit against CNN. The ruling has reignited concerns about the deep political bias inside America’s court system, even among judges who were expected to uphold fairness and constitutional principles.
The case centered on CNN’s coverage of the January 6th events and the network’s repeated use of the phrase “the Big Lie” when discussing Trump’s 2020 election challenges — a term many viewers recognize as intentionally inflammatory and designed to smear the former president.
Trump-Appointed Judges Side With CNN and the Liberal Media
The decision came from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, where Judges Kevin Newsom, Adalberto Jordan and Elizabeth L. Branch affirmed a lower court’s dismissal of Trump’s $475 million defamation lawsuit.
In their ruling, the judges claimed:
Trump, the court said, failed to show that CNN’s claims were factually incorrect.
For millions of conservative voters, this is yet another example of the two-tiered justice system — one that routinely shields the mainstream media while holding Republicans, and especially President Trump, to impossible standards.
CNN Walks Away Again — No Accountability for Their Attacks
Trump filed the lawsuit in 2022, arguing CNN repeatedly used Nazi-style language and dangerous comparisons to attack his credibility and damage his political future.
CNN and other liberal networks framed Trump with terms such as:
- “racist”
- “Russian lackey”
- “insurrectionist”
- and even “Hitler”
Trump’s lawsuit argued that these were not opinions, but knowingly false statements reported as fact — a classic example of mainstream media propaganda used to “tilt the political balance to the Left.”
Yet in July 2023, District Judge Raag Singhal — also appointed by Trump — dismissed the case, calling the rhetoric “repugnant” but not legally defamatory. Conservatives immediately questioned why judges appointed by Trump keep landing on the side of the liberal media.
Appeals Court Doubles Down Against Trump
When Trump appealed the ruling, the case was reviewed by Judges Newsom, Branch, and Jordan. Once again, the court sided with CNN, claiming the network never literally accused Trump of seeking to emulate Hitler, dismissing his arguments as “unpersuasive.”
The court added that Trump’s remaining arguments were “meritless.”
To many conservatives, this is more proof that the legal system is stacked against Trump, even when the judges carry his own signature.
A Long Battle Against Liberal Media Giants
For decades, President Trump has taken on the mainstream media — and he’s often been proven right about their bias. Over the years, Trump has sued or threatened to sue several outlets, including:
- ABC for misstating he was found liable for rape
- CBS for misleading editing in a “60 Minutes” interview
- The Wall Street Journal for reporting tied to the Epstein scandal
- The New York Times for politically motivated misinformation
- And most recently, the BBC for deceptive January 6th footage
Despite the CNN setback, Trump continues to challenge what he calls “fake news attacks” meant to manipulate elections and mislead the American public.
In March, he said:
“The fake news media will write whatever they want. And what do they do to silence it? They try to convict Trump.”
What Comes Next for Trump?
While the CNN case appears to be at its end, Trump still has ongoing actions against other major media outlets — and with the 2024 political landscape heating up, these battles are far from over.
The bigger question now is this:
If even Trump-appointed judges won’t hold liberal media accountable, who will?
For many Americans, this ruling is yet another reminder of why they believe President Trump is fighting not just political opponents, but an entire institution determined to silence him.
