NBA Star Trashes Trump, Immediately Regrets It

Celebrities still hate Trump? For what?

Austin Carr, a former star for the Cleveland Cavaliers, found himself at the center of controversy this past Thursday after posting a comment on social media that appeared to take aim at former President Donald Trump. Carr, now a TV analyst for the Cavaliers, was celebrating the team’s success as three of its players were selected for the NBA All-Star Game. However, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Carr added a political twist, writing, “Cavs have three all star, congrats, well deserved GO CAVS #ImpeachTrumpNOW.” The post was quickly deleted.

Carr, 76, who earned the nickname “Mr. Cavalier” during his time with the team, didn’t provide a specific reason for his call to impeach Trump. In his follow-up comments, he attempted to clarify his intentions, but the damage had already been done. His political statement overshadowed the excitement of the Cavaliers’ accomplishments.

Meanwhile, President Trump, speaking to reporters from the White House briefing room earlier in the day, addressed the tragic crash involving an American Airlines regional jet and a U.S. Army helicopter near Washington, D.C. While the cause of the crash was still under investigation, Trump took the opportunity to speak out on aviation standards. He criticized the Biden administration’s focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies at the Federal Aviation Administration, arguing that these efforts were lowering the standards for aviation personnel. Trump stressed that only the most qualified and highly skilled individuals should be allowed to serve in critical roles, such as air traffic controllers.

“Talent matters more than anything,” Trump said, emphasizing that intellectual capability and aptitude should be the only criteria for such positions, rather than any other factor. His comments reflected his ongoing commitment to ensuring that excellence and competency remain the priority in America’s workforce.
