MAGA Silences Trump With Election Pick

Trump was staying silent about this however it looks like MAGA is already making their pick.

A prominent conservative voice in Congress has entered the high-stakes battle for a Texas Senate seat, backing a candidate many grassroots voters see as a champion of the America First movement.

Rep. Eric Burlison, a Republican lawmaker aligned with the conservative House Freedom Caucus, has officially endorsed Ken Paxton in the closely watched Republican primary runoff for the U.S. Senate.

Paxton is competing against longtime incumbent John Cornyn in one of the most closely followed GOP primary battles in the country.

Because no candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote in the initial Texas Republican primary, the race is headed to a runoff election later this year that will decide which Republican advances to the general election.

Conservative Leaders Rally Behind Ken Paxton

Burlison praised Paxton as a consistent conservative fighter who has built a national reputation for challenging liberal policies in court and defending the constitutional rights of Texans.

In a statement, Burlison said Paxton has proven himself willing to take on powerful political interests and stand firm for conservative values.

According to Burlison, Paxton led major legal efforts during the administration of Joe Biden, particularly in lawsuits challenging federal immigration policies that many Republicans argued fueled the southern border crisis.

Burlison also highlighted Paxton’s legal battles against large corporations promoting progressive agendas and his willingness to confront the political establishment in Austin.

Supporters say that same fighting spirit is exactly what conservatives want in Washington.

Burlison said Paxton would bring that same energy to the U.S. Senate, describing him as a leader who will defend Texas voters and conservative priorities without backing down.

Trump Signals Upcoming Endorsement

The race has also attracted significant attention from Donald Trump, whose endorsements continue to carry enormous influence within Republican primaries.

Trump has not yet chosen between Paxton and Cornyn but indicated he plans to make an endorsement soon.

In a message posted on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the importance of quickly uniting the Republican Party ahead of the general election.

The president praised both candidates for running strong campaigns but stressed that Republicans must avoid a prolonged internal battle that could weaken the party.

Trump pointed out that his endorsements have historically been extremely successful, particularly in Texas, where he remains highly popular among conservative voters.

He also suggested that once he makes his decision, the candidate who does not receive his endorsement should consider stepping aside so Republicans can focus on defeating the Democratic nominee in November.

Trump previously endorsed Burlison in his reelection campaign, calling the Missouri congressman a “warrior” for the MAGA movement.

Democrats Select Their Candidate

While Republicans prepare for their runoff showdown, Democrats have already chosen their nominee.

Texas state Rep. James Talarico won the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate after defeating U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

The Republican runoff between Paxton and Cornyn will determine who ultimately faces Talarico in November.

Texas Senate Race Draws National Attention

The Texas Senate race is attracting nationwide attention as both parties recognize its potential impact on the balance of power in Washington.

For conservative voters, the contest has become a major test of the strength of the MAGA movement and the future direction of the Republican Party.

With Trump expected to weigh in soon and grassroots support building behind the candidates, the Texas Republican runoff is shaping up to be one of the most important primary battles of the election cycle.

Political observers say the outcome could influence not only Texas politics but the broader conservative agenda in Washington for years to come.
