Kamala Attacks Trump’s ICE, Gets Exposed

Kamala should avoid public speaking at this point.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is facing growing criticism after condemning Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents involved in a deadly enforcement operation in Maine. Her comments quickly sparked backlash, with critics pointing to her own immigration record during the Biden administration.

The incident that sparked the controversy occurred during an ICE enforcement operation in Biddeford, Maine, where 26-year-old Colombian citizen Joan Sebastian Guerrero was shot and killed. The Department of Homeland Security said Guerrero was in the country illegally and allegedly tried to escape by driving his vehicle toward federal agents, prompting an officer to open fire.

Kamala Harris Calls For Investigation

In a post on X, Harris argued that Guerrero’s death should never have happened.

“Joan Sebastian Guerrero should still be alive,” Harris wrote.

She also noted that Guerrero’s three-year-old daughter reportedly witnessed the incident and called for “an immediate, independent, and transparent investigation.”

Harris said that anyone found responsible for misconduct should be held accountable.

Her comments came just hours after DHS released its account of the incident.

DHS Says Officers Acted To Protect Themselves

According to DHS, ICE agents were conducting surveillance at the last known address of an illegal immigrant with an active deportation order when Guerrero allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

The agency said officers attempted to stop him before the situation rapidly escalated.

DHS said the driver allegedly tried to escape and moved the vehicle toward federal officers, creating what the agency described as a threat to public safety. An ICE agent opened fire, and although emergency crews responded soon afterward, Guerrero later died from his wounds.

An 18-year-old eyewitness, Lucas Scott, told the Portland Press Herald that officers surrounded the vehicle before the driver appeared to accelerate toward them.

Scott said the vehicle looked like it was trying to strike one of the officers, prompting an agent to fire several shots.

The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General has confirmed it will conduct an independent investigation into the shooting.

Critics Point To Harris’ Border Record

Harris’ statement immediately ignited debate online, with many critics arguing that she should also answer questions about immigration policies implemented during the Biden administration.

Although Harris was officially tasked with addressing the root causes of migration from Central America, political opponents frequently referred to her as the administration’s “border czar.”

Many critics argued that Harris is now criticizing immigration enforcement after serving in an administration that oversaw record levels of illegal immigration.

Others questioned why she focused on the actions of ICE agents while saying little about crimes committed by individuals who entered the country illegally.

Immigration remained one of the defining issues of the Biden presidency, with millions of migrant encounters recorded at the U.S. southern border during his four years in office. Border security continues to be a major issue for voters heading into the next election cycle.

Similar Criticism Followed Another ICE Shooting

The Maine incident is the second time in recent days that Harris has publicly criticized ICE over a fatal enforcement operation.

Last week, she spoke out after the death of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo during an ICE operation in Houston. According to DHS, Araujo also attempted to drive his vehicle toward federal agents during a traffic stop before officers opened fire.

Harris described that shooting as “horrific and cruel” and again called for an independent investigation while offering condolences to the victim’s family.

Immigration Debate Continues

The latest confrontation highlights the sharp divide over immigration enforcement in the United States.

Supporters of President Donald Trump’s immigration policies argue that ICE officers must be able to protect themselves when confronted with potentially life-threatening situations while enforcing federal law. Critics, including Harris, continue to argue that every deadly encounter involving federal immigration agents deserves thorough, independent review.

With the Inspector General now investigating the Maine shooting, the case is expected to remain part of the broader national debate over border security, immigration enforcement, and public safety.
