Biden’s Problems Get Much Worse

Biden should step down at this point.

As President Biden enters the final month of his first term, his approval ratings are sinking to new lows. According to a recent Marquette Law School national poll, Biden’s approval stands at just 34%, with 66% of Americans disapproving of his performance. This marks a four-point drop from October and the lowest approval rating he’s seen in Marquette’s polling throughout his presidency.

This significant decline in public support follows a series of missteps and crises that have plagued the Biden administration. His approval had hovered in the mid-50s during his first few months in office but began to plummet in August 2021, largely due to his disastrous handling of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. The chaotic evacuation, combined with rising COVID-19 cases, particularly among unvaccinated individuals, caused widespread frustration.

Additionally, Americans continue to grapple with soaring inflation, which has been a persistent issue since the summer of 2021. Everyday expenses such as groceries, gas, and housing have stretched family budgets thin, leading to mounting dissatisfaction with Biden’s economic policies. The ongoing crisis at the southern border, where illegal immigration has surged under his watch, has further eroded public trust in his leadership.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump is enjoying a rebound in approval. A recent Marquette survey shows that 53% of Americans approve of his handling of the presidency during his first term. This marks a notable increase from previous months and represents Trump’s highest approval since March of this year. In contrast to Biden’s struggles, Trump’s leadership during his tenure continues to resonate with many voters.

The poll also reveals mixed opinions about Trump’s cabinet picks for a potential second term. While 49% of respondents approve of his selections, 51% disapprove. Nonetheless, Trump’s favorability remains strong, with 49% of Americans holding a positive view of the former president compared to 50% who view him unfavorably.

In contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris has seen her favorability drop to 41%, down from 45% in October, with 57% of Americans now viewing her unfavorably.

As the Biden administration continues to grapple with these challenges, the Republican Party stands poised to capitalize on the growing discontent, with many Americans looking for leadership that can restore stability and confidence in the nation’s future.
