Biden has stooped to a new low.

On Friday, President Biden addressed the recent conviction of former President Donald Trump in his New York criminal trial, affirming that Trump, like any other individual, has the right to appeal the verdict. “He’ll have the chance to contest the decision, which is his right,” Biden stated.

Biden also condemned claims that the trial’s outcome was rigged, calling such assertions “reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible.” He emphasized that dissatisfaction with a verdict does not justify undermining the judicial process.

The jury found Trump guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Speaking from the White House, Biden reiterated the fundamental American principle that no one is above the law. He noted that Trump had ample opportunity to defend himself in this state-level case, which was adjudicated by a jury of 12 Americans selected through the standard process, a process that included participation from Trump’s legal team.

After five weeks of evidence presentation and careful deliberation, the jury unanimously convicted Trump on all counts. Biden explained that the opportunity for appeal is a critical aspect of the American justice system. “It’s essential to respect our justice system, which has been a cornerstone of American democracy for nearly 250 years,” Biden stated. He warned against allowing anyone to undermine this system simply because they disagree with a verdict, asserting that such actions threaten the very fabric of American justice.

Following his remarks, Biden briefly addressed the Israel-Hamas conflict before reporters redirected questions back to the Trump verdict. When asked for a response to Trump labeling himself a political prisoner and blaming Biden directly, the President simply smiled and left the room without further comment.

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign issued a stark warning to Biden following the conviction. “Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrats confined President Trump to a courtroom for over eight hours daily for more than six weeks, yet he continues to lead,” campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Fox News Digital. She advised Biden and the Democrats to “brace themselves” as Trump returns to the campaign trail.

At a press conference in Trump Tower, the former president expressed his desire to testify, though he ultimately did not. He argued that the case had broader implications beyond his presidency, stating, “This cannot be allowed to happen to future presidents.”

Additionally, the Trump campaign reported a significant fundraising surge, collecting $34.8 million from 6 p.m. ET to midnight on Thursday following the verdict. They highlighted this as nearly double their previous record on the WinRed platform and suggested that the convictions had energized the MAGA movement more than ever before.
