Canada Endorses Trump’s Proposal

Trump’s ideas are being endorsed by many.

In a bold and visionary proposal, Canadian entrepreneur and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary recently suggested that he could help broker a deal between President Donald Trump and Canada to form an “economic union” between the U.S. and its northern neighbor. O’Leary believes that such a merger could bring substantial benefits to both countries and secure North America’s position as a global economic powerhouse.

O’Leary’s interest in this idea follows Trump’s repeated comments suggesting that Canada should join the United States as its 51st state. The President-elect has long criticized Canada’s trade practices, particularly under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and has suggested that Canada’s high taxes are harming its economy. In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump even argued that Canadian taxes could be slashed by more than 60% if the country were to become part of the U.S., while Canadian businesses would double in size and benefit from unprecedented military protection.

While the idea of merging the two countries into one is a long-term and challenging vision, O’Leary sees enormous potential. He recently shared on Fox Business that during the holiday season, many Canadians expressed interest in the idea, with O’Leary claiming that at least half of the population would support such a move. He noted the strategic advantages of combining the two economies, eliminating the border, and creating a unified economic zone with a common currency and streamlined trade policies.

O’Leary also pointed out the growing geopolitical risks posed by China and Russia, and how a closer union between the U.S. and Canada could strengthen North America’s position. With both nations sharing vital natural resources and close economic ties, O’Leary envisions a future where Canada and the U.S. work together to secure their mutual interests and bolster their global influence.

However, he acknowledged that the current political leadership in Canada, particularly under the Liberal Party and Trudeau’s government, presents a significant obstacle. O’Leary has been vocal in his criticism of Trudeau and has expressed a desire to negotiate the terms of any potential agreement without Trudeau’s involvement, seeing himself as a more trustworthy figure to lead the discussion.

For many conservatives, the idea of strengthening the bond between the U.S. and Canada makes perfect sense. As Trump has pointed out, Canadian taxpayers are burdened by high taxes, and many Canadian businesses are hampered by regulatory red tape. A union could simplify trade, lower costs, and drive economic growth on both sides of the border.

While the road ahead would be filled with challenges, O’Leary’s proposal raises an important question: Could the future of North America look very different, with the U.S. and Canada joining forces in a bold new economic partnership? Time will tell, but the concept of a unified North America is one that deserves serious consideration for those looking to secure a prosperous future for both nations.
