Bill Clinton’s got bigger problems than worrying about what President Trump is doing.
Former President Bill Clinton delivered fresh criticism of President Donald Trump on Sunday, using a deadly federal immigration incident in Minneapolis to accuse the administration of escalating enforcement tactics and misleading the American public.
Clinton’s statement followed the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti during a Border Patrol operation over the weekend. Pretti, an ICU nurse, was filming federal immigration activity when the encounter turned violent. According to witness accounts, Pretti appeared to move toward a woman who had fallen during the operation before agents used a chemical spray and forced him to the ground.
Officials say Pretti was armed, and one agent was seen removing a firearm from his waistband moments before multiple shots were fired. Pretti later died at the scene. Federal authorities have stated the incident is under review.
The shooting comes amid growing tensions in Minneapolis following another ICE-related death earlier this month, which sparked protests and renewed scrutiny of immigration enforcement nationwide.
In his remarks, Clinton claimed recent events show a disturbing pattern of federal overreach. He alleged that immigration agents have increasingly relied on aggressive tactics and argued that Americans are being told to disregard video footage and eyewitness testimony.
Clinton also accused federal leadership of obstructing transparency and limiting cooperation with local officials, suggesting that investigations into recent incidents have been unnecessarily hindered.
Calling the situation “unacceptable,” the former president warned that the nation faces a defining moment. He urged Americans to speak out, arguing that civil liberties could be permanently damaged if citizens remain silent.
The comments mark the latest political attack from Democrats as President Trump continues to defend his immigration policies as essential to restoring border security, enforcing the rule of law, and protecting American communities.
