Here’s what happened.
Firebrand Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) unleashed a furious attack on her fellow Democrats after the U.S. House passed a resolution honoring the life and legacy of conservative icon Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier this month.
The resolution, which passed overwhelmingly on Friday, condemned Kirk’s brutal murder and celebrated his unwavering commitment to America’s founding values — including faith, freedom, and the Constitution.
Crockett’s Outrage on Live TV
Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, Crockett angrily scolded her white Democratic colleagues for voting to honor Kirk.
Crockett expressed her frustration, saying, “What really broke my heart was seeing that among all the ‘no’ votes, only two were from white lawmakers.”
“For the most part, the only people that voted no were people of color,” she added, suggesting Kirk’s message was harmful to minority communities.
Crockett then accused Kirk of using his platform to “target people of color” and blasted Democrats who chose unity over radical politics:
“It’s disappointing that even some of our fellow lawmakers couldn’t recognize just how damaging his words were — especially toward our communities.”
Vote Breakdown: A Stinging Defeat for the Radical Left
The resolution passed with strong bipartisan support:
- ✅ 215 Republicans voted in favor
- ✅ 95 Democrats crossed party lines to support it
- ❌ 58 Democrats voted no
- ⚪ 64 voted present or skipped the vote
Only two white Democrats — Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) — opposed the measure, leaving Crockett and the far-left “Squad” badly outnumbered. Even House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) voted to honor Kirk.
What the Resolution Said
The resolution condemned Kirk’s assassination in the strongest possible terms, while honoring his life’s mission of inspiring young Americans to cherish liberty.
It praised Kirk’s “steadfast dedication to the Constitution, civil discourse, and Biblical truth,” and called on all Americans to:
- Reject political violence
- Recommit to respectful debate
- Uphold American values
- Treat each other as fellow citizens, not enemies
This final section drew outrage from radicals like Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who led the charge against the resolution.
The Tragic Assassination
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on September 10th while speaking to students at Utah Valley University.
Police have arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, who now faces seven felony charges, including:
- Aggravated murder
- Obstruction of justice
- Witness tampering
Prosecutors confirmed they will seek the death penalty.
Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, has since been announced as CEO and chair of Turning Point USA, carrying on her husband’s mission to defend faith and freedom.
His funeral was scheduled for Sunday in Arizona, where thousands were expected to gather to honor his life.
Crockett Doubles Down
Despite the bipartisan vote, Crockett remained defiant.
“I’m not honoring that kind of stuff,” she declared, referring to Kirk’s work.
Her remarks highlight a deepening divide inside the Democratic Party — between radical leftists like AOC and Crockett and the growing number of moderates willing to work with Republicans to defend free speech, faith, and America’s founding principles.
Why This Story Matters
- Political violence is escalating — and leaders must condemn it.
- Kirk’s legacy of empowering young conservatives is stronger than ever.
- The far-left’s meltdown shows how divided Democrats are heading into 2026.
Conservatives across the country are now rallying to defend the Constitution and reject the dangerous ideology that fuels hate and violence.
