Democrats want to rain on Trump’s parade.
As Americans gather to celebrate July 4th with parades, fireworks, and family barbecues, left-wing activists are staging more than 260 coordinated protests aimed directly at President Donald Trump.
Organized by the same radical group behind the controversial Women’s March, the so-called “Free America” movement plans a series of political rallies disguised as community gatherings — including block parties, banner drops, and dance events — to protest what they call the “politics of fear.”
The protests are set to take place in red and blue states alike, including Florida, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina — states crucial to the upcoming elections. Organizers claim they’re fighting for “freedom,” but many Americans see the movement as yet another attempt by far-left Democrats to undermine President Trump’s America First agenda.
Nichole Geibel, a protest leader in Ohio and local Democrat official, told Newsweek that the events were inspired by opposition to Trump’s policies — especially those that restore law and order, enforce immigration laws, and shrink the size of government.
“We want our officials to know we’re watching,” Geibel said. “Our freedoms are being taken away.”
Her remarks come just one day after the House passed President Trump’s signature “Big Beautiful Bill” — a sweeping tax and spending reform package that delivers historic tax cuts for seniors, families, and working Americans. The bill also reins in wasteful programs and slashes bloated government departments, prompting outrage from entrenched bureaucrats and liberal activists.
The “Free America” protests are also a direct follow-up to the recent “No Kings” marches — the largest anti-Trump demonstrations since his first inauguration. While that event boasted over 1,800 protest sites, this one has about 264 — a significantly smaller showing, despite heavy promotion by Democrat operatives and progressive media outlets.
Organizers claim their protest language reflects the symbolism of Independence Day, but critics argue that the movement distorts the meaning of freedom. Instead of celebrating American values, they are using July 4th to sow division and push anti-Trump narratives.
In Lorain County, Ohio, Geibel admits her protest group has been active for months and is growing. She quoted far-left Congressman John Lewis, calling for “good trouble” and encouraging people to “make noise” against the Trump administration.
Conservatives see the irony. While President Trump delivers real results — securing the border, boosting the economy, cutting taxes, and defending constitutional freedoms — the radical left rallies in the streets on a day meant to honor the nation’s founding principles.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller praised the President’s momentum, posting on X:
“The most incredible opening 6 months to an American presidency in history.”
As patriotic Americans celebrate liberty, leftist protestors continue to attack the very freedoms they claim to defend. The contrast couldn’t be clearer.
