Ex-Trump Supporter Backstabs Him

Nobody expected this.

In a shocking turn of events, far-left Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) defended outspoken conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), calling her a “good Republican” during a CNN town hall Wednesday night — and his comments are sending shockwaves through the political world.

Sanders, known for his socialist agenda, claimed that many elected Republicans are “doing less representing their districts and more swearing allegiance to President Donald Trump.”

“I never imagined I’d be saying this,” Sanders remarked, “but Marjorie Taylor Greene is correct in pointing out that her duty is to the voters who elected her, not to the President. There are, in fact, some decent Republicans out there.”

Sanders then took a swipe at President Trump, suggesting that if Trump would “leave them alone for five minutes and not threaten them with a primary,” more progress could be made in Washington — a statement that immediately sparked outrage among Trump loyalists and conservative voters alike.

AOC Joins In — Laughs Off Bipartisanship

Also appearing at the same CNN event was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a key Sanders ally and leading figure in the progressive movement. When asked by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins whether she could see herself working with Greene in Congress, Ocasio-Cortez laughed and said, “On what?”

She went on to add that she would only consider working with Republicans “if they actually support policies that help people,” before bragging about her past work on health care legislation.

“It’s not just about talking the talk,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “You’ve got to walk the walk.”

Her mocking tone drew criticism online, especially from conservatives who saw it as another example of the left’s arrogance toward working-class Americans and Republican women.

Greene Praised by Democrats — Conservatives Alarmed

In recent weeks, Marjorie Taylor Greene has found herself in rare agreement with leading Democrats on several hot-button issues. She’s called out GOP leadership for failing to extend Affordable Care Act premium subsidies and even signed on to a bipartisan resolution demanding the Department of Justice release hidden files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

That move earned her public praise from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), who told MSNBC that Greene has been “surprisingly enlightened” lately — comments that sent conservative circles into overdrive.

“There’s a lot of weak Republican men who are afraid of strong Republican women,” Greene later fired back to The Washington Post. “They always try to marginalize the ones who actually want to achieve something.”

Her words came across as a veiled shot at her own party — particularly those who still stand firmly with President Donald Trump and his “America First” movement.

Conservatives Push Back: “Who’s Side Is She On?”

For years, Greene has been one of Trump’s fiercest defenders on Capitol Hill — a voice for border security, election integrity, and conservative values. But her sudden alignment with Democrats and praise from the far-left has many wondering whether she’s shifting her loyalty to the Washington establishment.

Grassroots conservatives have taken to social media questioning her motives, calling it a “betrayal of the MAGA movement.”

Many see this as another example of Democrats using flattery to divide and weaken the Republican base — rewarding anyone willing to distance themselves from President Trump’s populist agenda.

Bottom Line

Bernie Sanders praising Marjorie Taylor Greene as a “good Republican” may be the most bizarre headline of the year — but it underscores a deeper political reality: Democrats will embrace anyone who turns on Trump.

And for many conservatives, that’s the ultimate red flag.
