America awaits Trump’s response to this.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is openly threatening President Donald Trump, declaring that the state “will not stand idly by” if Trump sends the National Guard into Chicago to tackle violent crime.
“Unlike President Trump, we honor our commitments,” Pritzker posted on X. “If he tries to deploy the National Guard to threaten Chicago’s residents, we won’t sit back and watch. His move will be answered with a response.”
These stunning remarks escalate his feud with President Trump, who has signaled he may deploy troops to restore law and order in America’s most crime-ridden big city.
Pritzker Accuses Trump of a “Power Grab”
Pritzker has doubled down, claiming there is “no crime emergency” in Chicago despite another bloody weekend that left 6 dead and 27 injured. Instead of acknowledging the violence, the Democrat governor accused Trump of trying to “manufacture a crisis” and called the deployment “unconstitutional” and “un-American.”
“This is a dangerous power grab,” Pritzker insisted.
Chicago’s Mayor Joins the Attack
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, another Democrat, quickly echoed Pritzker. He pointed to statistics showing a small drop in homicides and robberies compared to last year — yet admitted crime remains far higher than in 2021.
Johnson warned that National Guard troops would “inflame tensions” between police and residents. “The President’s approach is uncalled for and unsound,” he said.
Trump Fires Back
President Trump, however, isn’t buying it. On Truth Social, he blasted both Pritzker and Johnson as “incompetent” leaders who have allowed Chicago to descend into chaos.
“Chicago just suffered another violent weekend,” Trump posted. “Governor Pritzker pretends crime is under control, but the reality is the opposite. He has failed as governor, and Mayor Johnson isn’t any better. It’s time to Make Chicago Great Again!”
Law and Order vs. Democrat Excuses
The confrontation sets up a major test of strength between Trump’s America First law-and-order agenda and Democrat leaders who appear more focused on politics than protecting families.
Trump has already deployed federal agents and National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., to reduce crime in the nation’s capital. Now, Chicago could be next.
