Hillary is clearly jealous.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is once again criticizing President Donald Trump — this time over reports involving a proposed commemorative $250 bill tied to America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration.
According to a report from The Washington Post, officials connected to the Trump administration reportedly encouraged the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to explore early concepts for a special-edition $250 note featuring Trump’s portrait. The bureau, which oversees the printing of U.S. currency, allegedly discussed prototype ideas after requests from Treasury Department political appointees.
The proposal immediately sparked political debate online.
Clinton, Trump’s longtime political opponent from the 2016 presidential election, reacted Thursday with a sarcastic post on X referencing inflation and rising household costs.
Clinton joked that by the time Trump leaves office, $250 might barely cover a tank of gas and a few basic groceries like eggs.
Her comment quickly drew reactions from conservatives, many of whom argued that Americans experienced the worst inflation in decades during the Biden administration, when grocery prices, energy bills, and everyday expenses surged nationwide.
At this point, the White House has not officially confirmed whether a Trump-themed $250 bill will move forward. However, commemorative currency tied to the nation’s Semiquincentennial celebration has reportedly been under discussion for months.
Earlier this year, the Treasury Department announced plans for President Trump’s signature to appear on special commemorative U.S. currency celebrating America’s 250th birthday. If finalized, the move would mark the first time a sitting president’s signature appears on American paper money.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent previously praised the idea as a fitting tribute to both the country’s historic milestone and Trump’s political legacy.
“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S. dollar bills bearing his name,” Bessent said in an earlier statement.
Supporters say Trump’s impact on border security, trade policy, foreign affairs, and the economy has made him one of the most influential political figures of the modern era. They argue that recognizing his presidency during America’s 250th anniversary celebration would resonate with millions of Americans.
Critics, meanwhile, continue to dismiss the proposal as political symbolism designed to energize Trump supporters ahead of future elections.
Still, the story highlights one major reality about modern American politics: even years after the heated 2016 election, the rivalry between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton continues to capture national attention.
With the 2026 election cycle already heating up and America preparing for its historic 250th birthday celebration, debates surrounding Trump’s legacy appear far from over.
