Democrats are playing a very dirty game.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is blasting Democrats for “playing politics with Americans’ livelihoods” as the government shutdown intensifies — warning that millions of working families, service members, and seniors are paying the price for Washington’s partisan games.
“Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are playing politics with the lives of real American people,” Johnson told Fox News. “They’re getting applause from the far left — that was the goal all along. They had to satisfy the Marxist base of their party, and this shutdown is the result. It’s absurd.”
Johnson Calls Out Democrat ‘Lies’
After watching House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) blame Republicans for the crisis, Johnson said it was “infuriating” to hear what he called “the opposite of the truth.”
“Three weeks ago, the House passed a clean continuing resolution to pay the troops, pay federal workers, and keep the government open,” Johnson explained. “The ball is in the Senate’s court now. That’s where the duty lies.”
Millions Left Hanging
Johnson warned that 2 million civilian workers and 1.3 million active-duty troops will soon go without pay because of Democrat obstruction.
“Real harm to real people,” he said firmly. “We’re hearing it from our constituents — flight cancellations, FEMA delays, young mothers losing nutrition aid. This is what Democrat politics looks like in real life.”
Republicans, he added, are “back in their districts helping real Americans survive a crisis Democrats created.”
‘I’ve Had It With These People’
Visibly frustrated, Johnson said he’s reached his limit.
“I’m a patient guy,” he told Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade, “but I’ve had it. Democrats are playing games with people’s lives.”
He even revealed a disturbing motive behind the delay: “They have a ‘Hate America Rally’ planned for Oct. 18 — pro-Hamas, Antifa types — and some Democrats are selling T-shirts for it. We’re told they won’t reopen the government until after the rally because they can’t upset their radical base.”
The protest, dubbed “No Kings Day,” is being billed as a nationwide anti-Trump event claiming to “show the world that America has no kings.”
Democrats’ Obsession With Trump
Johnson accused Democrats of letting “Trump Derangement Syndrome” drive their every move.
“Never before in history has a party shut down the government over a clean CR,” he said. “We offered seven more weeks to finish the budget process, to work together — and they still chose chaos. Why? Because they can’t stand President Trump and the America-First movement.”
Republicans Stand Firm for America
Johnson vowed that Republicans would keep fighting for the people — not the political elite.
“Democrats are hurting working Americans just to score points with their extremist base,” he concluded. “Meanwhile, Republicans are standing with President Trump to defend our troops, our families, and our country’s future. Enough is enough.”
